shoes
Cutting down my shoedrobe...

I’m more than aware the fact I own a ridiculous amount of shoes - More than an average girl my age for sure. I was thinking about streamlining my wardrobe - I kid myself but it’ll never actually happen. Although it did get me thinking about if I could have 4 pairs of shoes which ones would I keep. One pair of heels, boots, flats and trainers.

I’m not really a flat shoe girl but I would 100% go with my brand new Office Kandy Shoes. I love their modern geometric shape and how flattering they are on my feet. They are simplistic but stylish and a statement shoe in their own right. While I probably own comfier flat shoes I would totally pick these ones over the rest.

If I was to pick one pair of boots then I think I’d need to think about it. I have countless pairs of boots that I genuinely do love and wear on a regular rotation. After a little bit of deliberation I settled on my Vagabond Dioon Chelsea Boots. It was a close call between these and my lace up Dioon boots but the Chelsea style just beat them. The perfect height, they go with pretty much everything and are the ideal versatile shoe. I can wear these all day and walk around for ages without my feet hurting.

Skate shoes had a big revival in 2014 and I for one really embraced that trend. My wardrobe is full of an assortment of different ones. If I was to pick one pair of trainers to wear for there rest of my life then I’d go with my snakeskin Topshop Tika 2’s. While not strictly in the trainer camp these babies are my go to comfy casual shoe. I do have a soft spot for my Nike’s these ones are more wearable and sit oh so naturally into my day to day dressing.

For heels I’d choose my New Look duo toned block heels. I don’t think you can get these anymore but they are honestly my go-to heels. As I’m pretty monochromatic in my dressing anyway these seem to go with pretty much every outfit I wear. I like to wear them with dresses, trousers or skirts. They are the perfect height as they don’t make me feel too tall or too small and they never hurt my feet after dancing the night away.
So thats it. The 4 pairs of shoes I'd keep if I had to really cut down my shoedrobe. As I said this isnt happening anytime soon for me but it's fun to consider which shoes you own which you get the most wear out of. I probably wear each of these pairs at least one a week without fail and couldn't live without them. What are your must have shoes? Which ones could you not live without? Let me know in comments!

Topshop Arabel Boots

Topshop Arabel Boots (not online, but I got mine in store!)
I've had the idea in my head that I needed to get some really masculine cut out boots for a while now. I like the whole mixture of masculine and feminine at the moment and I thought they'd be the perfect addition to my Boot collection. After a few almost's (these ones and these ones) and a purchase then returned (these) I finally settled on the Topshop Arabel Boots. The Arabel Boots are tough, rough and everything I wanted from a pair of summer boots. I know it's weird to consider boots summer wear but I wanted something that was tough that would perfectly balance out a girly summer dress. Things I love about them include the heel. The heel is spot on as it's really thick but the actual heel height is only 2 inches so perfect for everyday wear. The buckles add a little extra sumthin'sumthin' to them too which I just cant put my finger on. I love that the cut outs show a bit of ankle and they are so comfy… Oh sigh, I'm in love.
Roll on summer when I can wear these paired with girly dresses or floaty midi's to give it a punky edge. I've worn them in a few outfits (here and here) already and Im sure they'll be in many more to come!
PS. I'm currently away at Center Parcs but I've gone and scheduled some posts to keep you tided over until I make my triumphant return on Thursday! I'll try and get some snaps from when Im away too, I fancy doing a vlog as well!

kitty flats
I am currently on Holiday in Turkey until the 4th June. This is a scheduled post, Although I will be blogging while I am away, I won't be reading and replying to things until I return to the UK! Hope the weather is not too bad!

shoes: daisy street (£20.99)
Daisy Street recently sent me a pair of their incredibly cute Kitty flats. Inspired by the Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats which retail for a whopping £485, The Daisy Street version are very similar for a much more purse friendly price of £21. I've had my eye on a pair like this for a while now and even included them in a wish list so was happy when I spotted these on their website when they offered me a pair of shoes to review. I'm very happy with the shoes, they give me "the look" without breaking the bank. Daisy Street Shoes sell a variety of designer inspired and high street style shoes at very reasonable prices. Including fairly good dupes of my beloved Topshop Allegeras and lots of Lita style shoes for those who can brave the height of them!

spiked loafers

shoes: ebay (£53)
I've been asked quite a bit about my spiked loafers (worn here & here) so I though I'd answer some of the most commonly asked questions. That way I have a dedicated post about them rather than having to explain each time. I bought my pair off ebay from this seller for £53. I've wanted a pair of spiked loafers for a very long time. I've thought about getting cheaper ones but I knew in my head I what I wanted so it was prooving difficult. I ordered these after a long time of "umping and aahing" and eventually forgot about them. Until I realised I'd sent them to my Mum's house and she called me about a very confusing parcel that had turned up!
I do think the shoes are quite expensive for what they are. They aren't the best quality shoes I've worn, but then again I am trying to get a "look" rather than buying good quality shoes. I know for £50 I could have gotten cheaper, similar ones, but I was dead set on buying proper studded spiky dupes rather than the Topshop Vectra's etc. I find them to be pretty comfy and easy to wear as they go with so many outfits.
I'm a typically a size 5, and a small five at that. Although I think I'm a four and a half, but I buy UK 5's most of the time in flat shoes. I bought the EUR 38's (a UK size 5) over the other sizes as I was a bit worried about the sizing. I thought that if they were too big its easier to put insoles in that stretch smaller shoes. The sizing is definitely on the small side as they are a bit snug on my feet. Often I'm asked if I think they make my feet look "big", I can't say I personally notice the size of my feet that much but as they are quite heavily spiked so naturally they make your feet look larger than a shoe without spikes!
The shoes are made out of fake (I really hope its fake!) pony skin style material and metal spikes. While the spikes aren't particularly sharp, they are pretty hard so be very careful wearing them. As I've accidentally kicked my ankle before wearing them and its left me with a nasty little scab. They seem quite secure so I don't think they are going to fall off quite yet!
Overall I think these shoes are really eye-catching, and I'm always getting comments on them! They seem to scare small children quite a bit "LILY! WHY IS YOUR SHOES SO SPIKEY" to quote my baby brother! And I'm always getting dodgy looks on the tube. But I'm really happy with them and I'm glad I decided to risk my money on them. While they aren't as beautiful as the UNIF Hellraisers or the Louboutin Rollerball's, they are a good dupe despite their hefty price tag!

flatforms

flatforms: office (sale, now sold out)
Feel free to file this post under filler rather than snippets but I thought I'd just show you some close ups of my flatforms. I get alot of comments about them! Plus its all I have, Spent the day loading my boxes onto a moving van! Flatforms are basically like as the name suggests flat platform shows. Im shorter than I'd like to be and (I know this sounds weird) don't like the way my feet look in flat shoes. I feel so short and stumpy when I don't wear heels or a wedge!
I like flatforms because the give me the extra inch and a bit I like without being too high. I personally find them easy to walk in, although its quite odd at first being so far off the ground but still have flat feet! My Office Willow Paige's are half real leather and half suede which I think adds a lovely dimension to the shoe. I paid £28 for them, which I think is such a bargain considering I did want them full price (£75) but they were sold out in size 5 on-line. I know these ones are sold out now but I have a similar pair from H&M (again sale) and there are these ones on new look and these on asos (I bought these too). You can also look on ebay for my specific pair but unfortunately there isn't any coming up at the moment. I was so lucky to find these flatforms in Office after months of lusting after them!
You sick of seeing me wear the same shoes everyday yet?
PS. So sorry about my veiny feet, I absolutely HATE feet to the point where I feel a little bit sick seeing someone elses foot! Which is actually a part of the reason why I never used to show them.

a million ways

shirt: select
fur: new look
shoes: H&M
leggings: american apparel
rings: jwlry, market stall, H&M
nails: nailene so natural short beige *
Rare shoe shot for the lolz! But its my favourite combination at the moment, flatforms and leggings. Bought this shirt in Cardiff from Select (ya i kno, didn't even know it was still a shop!) after seeing some of their stuff at a press day. I don't really like sheer stuff as I hate the look ofsomething being underneath but the studs and the length drew me to it and I could forgive it for being sheer. Coming in at a reasonable £14 too, Not too shabby! Id definetly go into Select again as they had a fair few decent looking pieces after looking past the tat! Kinda reminded me of Internactionale if anyone shops there!
PS. There comes a time in a persons life where you think you should lay off the fake tan when your feet match the wooden floor.

topshop allegera boots

boots: topshop (£75)
Bought the Topshop Allegera Boots today, My mum gave me some money towards them and I got 15% discount for signing up to the Topshop Card (Don't do it kids, interest is terrible! Paying mine off & cutting it up as soon as my bill comes!). I really cannot wait to wear them, they are the perfect everyday ankle boot with a slight heel! Topshop is coming out with such lovely mid heeled boots, winter hats and jackets at the moment, so depressing as it supposed to be "summer"! Le sigh!

leopard wedges

excuse the orangeness, my tan is still developing!
heres a side view as all the ones I took didnt come out good!
heres a side view as all the ones I took didnt come out good!
Oh leopard how I love you. I bought these ages ago, and have had every intention of mentioning them on here for months now. My Mum practically forced me to buy these wedges from Internationale, I wasn't sure, I don't even remember why I didn't want to buy them, something was just holding me back. For some reason they were running a buy one item get the next item half price or something crazy like that. So I bought this top for £7.99 & then after some convincing I went back and got these shoes for a stupidly low price (£10 maybe?). I love them I really do. No regrets getting them at all as they are surprisingly easy to walk in & wear. I've tottered around in them a few times since getting them and I cant believe I nearly decided to leave them! The nails is Misguided something, I cannot remember!
I was going to do a outfit post today but I didn't get home till after I had my spray tan, and seeing as I was wearing a white shirt combo I did want to get my tan all over it while it develops. I'm going out tomorrow so hopefully I'll do a post before I go out of what I'm going to wear, even tho I've not decided exactly what I'm wearing yet!

little loafers

shoes: new look
Completely and utterly obsessed with my new shoes. Little suede loafers with the gold bar detailing. Oh New Look why tempt me with your pretty shoes. These are replacing my much loved Primark suede bow flats that I've worn pretty much everyday for about a year! I rarely buy new shoes if Im honest & if Im not wearing these shoes, I'll be wearing the black boots I posted about here. I'm not really a big shoe person!
I'm going to see Your Highness tonight with Greg. He wants to see it more than me, it does kinda look like one of those standard stupid-but-funny-jokes type movies! James Franco is fit though, hubba hubba! I presume we'll go to Nandos tonight as well, because we dont have one where we live, so we ALWAYS go there, Why is Nandos so good?

boots

boots: office
My new boots, Courtesy of Office via Look Magazine. I got a £50 voucher way back when I won the Look blogging competition originally last September/October? Time has really flown and I completely forgot about the voucher. I went to the cinmea to see Black Swan with my friend Greg last week. Which by the way I thought was OK, not great but pretty good. I know alot of people loved it but I couldnt get into it! We dont have an Office where I live so I popped in and saw these babies and knew they were for me! I love the victorian lace up feel to them. A little bit gothic but oh so perfect!
Talking of the Look Show, Well a slightly panicked last night, frantically texting Victoria begging her to come with me to London on Friday. She agreed, so now we are both going down on Friday. Then this morning I get a email saying I'd won Look Magazine tickets again. I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't REALLY try and get tickets to go again, I actually entered every single competition that the brands were running to get tickets. To happy I managed to win some! So me, Victoria and Gem are all going. I do have another ticket too which Im hoping one of my IRL friends will come with if not I'll probably offer it to another blogger whos going to be in London on Friday. Let me know if you are around and Ill let you know!
