Drugstore Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil Dupe

I’ve talked about the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil before, in fact I’ve gone through three of the eyebrow pencils already (even though I talked about how much I hated eyebrow pencil a few days ago) and I absolutely adore them. The unique angled pencil defines and shapes the brows with east and the waxy/pencil hybrid works wonders for taming my brows.

I was browsing my emails when I saw a press release on these Sleek Eyebrow Stylist caught my eye and I instantly thought about the similarities between that and the Hourglass Arch Brow pencil. After giving it a whirl and testing out the two... I think it’s safe to say the two are very similar. Both have dual ended applicators - one with the pencil and the other is a styling and blending brush to define the brow. The Sleek Eyebrow Stylist has a angled tip which creates strokes of different weights from thick to thin, which perfect for filling in and defining at the same time. The only difference I can see is that formula isn’t quite the same, I felt the Sleek Eyebrow Stylist was a little creamier and smooth. Which isn’t a bad thing as I often found the Hourglass Arch to be a little stiff and drying.

While Hourglass has the edge in terms of quality, look and application. I’d definitely class this as an affordable alternative. It’s £5.99 and compared to the £26, and both come in three shades.

mac mythology dupe

MAX FACTOR WILD SHADOW POT IN FERAL BROWN *
Zoe is the one that spotted this MAC Mythology dupe when I wore it out one night and she asked me if that was what I was wearing. She was shocked to find out it was the Max Factor Wild Shadow Pot in Feral Brown. MAC Mythology is a coppery brown shade and one of my all time favourite MAC Eyeshadows. The Max Factor Wild Shadow Pots don't really get a huge amount of love but they are pretty darn good budget shadows. They come in 22 shades and range from bright eye popping shades to flattering neutrals. The pigment is good, smooth and they apply really well. They don't look the same in pan or when they are swatched next to each other but once applied to the eyes and blended and they look almost identical. It's less than half the price of the MAC one and not one to miss out on.

Clarins Instant Light Base dupe

Hot of the heels of my latest Clarins dupe post I’ve found another drugstore version of one of my favourite Clarins products. The Seventeen Wow Skin Tan Liquid Glow is a near perfect dupe for theInstant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base. The Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in shade 03 was part of the summer drop from the brand as has quickly become a firm favourite in my Muji tower.

It’s a lightweight base that boosts the completion for that much desirable model glow from within look. It leaves a glowy but flawless look to the skin all the while hydrating and soothing the skin. On a usual trot around Boots I picked the Seventeen Wow Skin Tan Liquid Glow to see how it compared and if it’d be a little more purse friendly. Much to my surprise it’s very similar. It gives the faux glow effect but adding a bit more of a tan to the skin. Use it alone on good skin days or mixed with your favourite foundation or dabbed onto the tops of the cheeks like a liquid highlighter.

At a budget friendly £5.99 this is one of those summer products you can’t afford to miss. Big purse friendly thumbs up from me!
