i think some people like to pounce on stuff people say just to make a bit of a stir, i wonder if they would be so bold and obnoxious to your face? its like when i look at the comments of a youtube video, the other day i was watching Natalya's (filthygorgeousmakeup)video and someone actually said to her "your lips really annoy me" HOW is that ever necessary?!

I feel bad for you that you have to watch what you say. I'm not going to say 'ignore the haters' but I would hate it if you held back from saying whatever you want to say. Your opinions and jokes are what makes your blog more than just 'what I wore'. I don't know how people can get so offended by such a simple joke, do they not hear jokes like that all day, and say them themselves? I do! I make un-pc jokes all the time, get a sense if humour people. I just really want you to stay how you are, don't change! It's not your problem if people don't get you.

i tend to read but not always comment, sometimes i get put off commenting on blogs which have hundreds of comments on each post as i think that the owner won't necessarily have time to read them all so i feel like they would probably just get lost in the mix..(sorry if that's not true, it's not a criticism either!)

but i do think that with so many poeple reading, it's inevitable that you'll get a handful of those who don't read / get what you were trying to say..i guess it's easy to say ignore it, but i know if it was me i'd be botehred too so i get the frustration!

I found what you said quite funny, I think people just pick on you because your blog is so popular and some people can't handle others having success. Like you said earlier "why do people think I wouldn't read comments" it's the same with if people think you're superficial or whatever, you don't come across like either at all in your posts. But one or two people have obv made comments or assume that you are, and its almost like a false reputation that other people have given you precedes who you are and how you act?

I don't know if that makes sense (!) Y'know people just "presume" that you're like that praps because you have a lot of followers or wear nice things, if they actually read your blog or your tweets, they'd know you're not.

I have that top and in the polka dots I'm always too scared to wear the polka dot one because it's a bit in your face and I only ever wear them with leggings because I cant think of anything else but I might get my bodycon out now and tuck it in I didn't think of that thanks.

I've been a reader of your blog for a while now and quiet often you seem to have to have to explain comments you make when this is your space to speak your mind and write how you want to without having to worry about what every off the cuff comment will mean to someone else and second guessing what you want to say. to please everyone you would just have to write very boring posts which show no opinion or emotion and that's not why we read your blog. I say write once and for all a statement which explains that you dont mean to offend by what you say, you are a nice girl who is just talking as you would to your friends and to bear this in mind before flying off the handle and writing you a message saying that you are a mean person. Then if you receive any more messages like that the person obviously isn't a true reader of your blog as they haven't taken the time to get to know your writing style and to have read that statement.

It never even occured to me when I read it that people might have a problem with your simple remark until you mentioned that people had commented about it. It was such a simple comment and just your opinion. I don't know why people pick on every single thing these days... is everyone just out to create drama? People complain about things on the TV, radio, in magazines, interviews and now just everyday bloggers! It's ridiculous!

My comment about Seth Rogan (who I honestly had to google to find out who he is) wasn't about you calling someone fat, it was about your use of the word "acceptable". If you have a crush on him then good for you but I still don't understand why it's more acceptable now because he's slimmer than when he was larger. Maybe he was/is a weird crush because he's fat? I don't know. But you shouldn't think that it's weird to fancy someone because they're fat.

From my point of view your defence in your blog today is a poor one. It's still offending to those people out there who may be on the larger side who think that it's weird for people to like them because they're fat.

I'm not a hater or whatever people want to call people that express an opinion on a public blog, they shouldn't be called that unless they're personally attacking you, which I'm not doing. I've been reading your blog for probably a year now and have always enjoyed it but your comment on your last entry just made me stop and wonder why you'd say something like that.

I've read and re read both the last comment you made and your comment today and I still don't think you understand the ramifications of what you said. I've tried to re read it to find out if I read it wrong and I honestly don't believe that I have:

Every day i have either a comment/email/text or tweet from Lily telling me that SOMEONE, somewhere, hasn't got what she said and it's bought hate on her.
Every day i listen to Lily have to justify herself on her blog, which is totally ridiculous because it's HER BLOG. She should never have to justify herself to anyone but herself.
I can't help but notice a little bit of a contradiction in your comment. You seem to have a real issue that ''god forbid'' Lilys followers/friends stick up for her. Yet you're fine to show your husband, who is OBVIOUSLY not going to disagree with you.
You say you've been following for a while, then you should know what shit Lily has to put up with and you should understand her writing style.
Not being rude, but i've seen Lilys exboyfriend. Someone who she loved an awful lot. He's a bigger guy but she was still with him?!
Lily herself was also a bigger girl back in the day. So for her to criticise someone fancying someone else who is bigger is just as laughable at your comment. Some times people take things far too seriously.

Very pretty. I was gonna buy the top last month but I was like "ok,hang on and get it in the january sale" and ooops, no left when i got downtown:( got a short sleeve one instead but it´s not as good. anyway, as for the "people don´t get me" thing - I suppose it´s the disadvantage of being "famous" in the blog world. I got the joke and I think everyone who thinks would and there´s no reason for you to worry about those who don´t think so take it easy. I say stuff people don´t seem to get all the time and feel like they must think I´m super stuck up but honestly, who cares?:)

Totally agree with what the lovely Victoria said; at the end of the world, it's your effin blog! So you can say what you want - even if you did say you didn't fancy him when he was fat (which you didn't) it's entirely up to you what you write on your blog - the fact that you have a lot of readers does not mean you have to edit flippant comments to ensure you don't offend anyone, or to answer to anyone should something be misunderstood.

It's so nice that everyone sticks up for Lily. I can see how someone maybe read into the comment wrong, but you have to admit, the physical appearance of people IS important in attraction. It's not the MOST important thing, but it's there, and it's natural. So yes, Seth Rogan is more attractive now that he's lost weight. It doesn't mean that he wasn't worth fancying before, but there's nothing wrong with saying that he's gotten more attractive recently. There are a lot of people out there who take everything so literal that they believe it pertains to their existence. No matter what you say, even if it is a little comment about seth rogan or whatever, someone out there may not like it, even if its something so insignificant. So, who cares? If you had to always watch what you say, then it wouldn't be YOUR blog. If they have a problem with what you say, then why are they reading your blog in the first place? It's all a matter of opinion. I personally think seth rogan is fugly, but that's my opinion! So say whatever you want and forget about those people who are overly opinionated and take everything out of context. They make life not enjoyable! Haha xp

I know I rambled on and on earlier but I was just reading some of the comments which have been added and so just wanted to throw this out there!

I don't think the problem is Lily not "getting" why people might find what she said offensive or whatever, I think it's the girl who found it offensive, not getting Lily's point!

I don't want to speak on your behalf for you Lily (!) but this is just my view! It seemed to me that Lily wasn't saying herself that SHE, found it "unacceptable" to fancy so called "fat" people. She was saying in society, it may be seen as that. And as much as you may want to try and convince yourself that it's not true, unfortunately it is by a lot of people. I'm not gonna ramble on n on about media etc, but it's just the way it's portrayed. I used to be a bigger girl and would never have taken offence to what was said, it was simply an observation.

To me, Lily never expressed herself that it was her view.. she was talking generically about what MIGHT be (and often is) viewed that way. For example, Gordon Ramsey, Simon Cowell.. are often considered "weird crushes" in general. That's not to say there's anything wrong with them or that it's "wrong to fancy anyone over 30!"

I'm not "sucking up" either or just defending Lily for the sake of it. I wouldn't say these things if I truly didn't believe that you'd perceived it wrong and missed the whole point. It's really not a big issue, it were a small comment, which I think you've just taken wrongly. I don't think there was any need to attack Lily or her readers tho and suggest anyone who reads this blog thinks you can't have your own view.

Damn H&M and their amazingly versatile clothes! I've gotten so sick of it, particularly this past week. Wouldn't let the negative feedback worry you. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion, and not everyone's going to agree with it and this applies to both you and the people who took it upon themselves to comment.

I really like your blog, but there are always going to be times that you'll say something and people may not agree. It happens with all people in the public eye, you can't please everyone. In this case, I disagree with the idea that it is unacceptable to fancy Seth Rogan because he's not thin or stereotypically "beautiful", but I completely understand that you didn't mean it like that and that you meant no offence by it. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I got the impression that you meant it was different that you may like a guy who isn't generally in the public eye for being someone who is "fancied" by a lot of women and that people may find it unusual as it isn't something you hear often in the media. I think that it is unfair to launch an attack on you because of poor wording and you have handled yourself gracefully.

Reading through a few of your comments from this blog and the last, it's apparent that there is a lot more love for you than negative feedback, so just concentrate on that or you'll never be satisfied.

Reading back, this all seems rather pretentious so I'd like to add that I think your great and so do the majority of people reading this blog, so smile!

Honey, people are ALWAYS going to misread what you write or say. In real life, you might want to defend yourself in the public space. But this is your own blog. That's like having to defend yourself in your own living room. That is bullshit. If I were you, I'd just ignore most negativity and if you REALLY feel the need to set the record straight, do so with a few short sentences, not with an entire post. It makes you come across as overly defensive and it will only attract more people jumping on that, because haters love defensive people to hate on a bit more.

i think its crazy how sensitive some people can be. taking what you said at face value (without even reading it thoroughly) and then reacting to it is, unfortunately, an effect of our generation's short attention span. and skimming the surfaces of things is, by definition, shallow and superficial. problem is, anything that is written online is almost sure to be misunderstood--same with text messaging and whatnot--it's hard to get across the proper tone/joke/sarcasm in a blog post. don't let them get to you!

hahaha seth rogen is crush-able anyways whether he has the extra pounds or not. But truth is that he doeeees look better now. People have to learn how to respect other peoples opinions and thats that.
