Despite being a billion events at The W, as well as frequenting the bar, I’ve never seen inside any of the rooms. When I was first shown my room, I was really stunned how beautiful it was and quickly proclaimed that “I WISH THIS WAS MY HOUSE”! Straight up, it’s one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in and trust me - I’ve stayed in loads.
I was staying in one of their newly refurbished Superior Rooms. The room itself is compact but perfectly formed with everything having just the right amount of space. The unusual layout (the vanity is in the middle of the room!) played well to it’s boutiquey feel and it felt really glam and special. I loved sitting at the vanity and applying my makeup, I felt like a proper little celeb. The bed is comfy and HUGE, I had my friends stay over one night and they both commented how they just didn’t want to leave the bed!
The W provide anything you will ever need in the room as well as a Wherever/Whenever service. In the room they provide things like ear plugs (see later point) to a shaving kit and a makeup wipes. Toiletries are by Bliss Spa which are a lovely addition to the room. The snack station is well stocked with a variety of healthy and unhealthy treats - including a PEZ dispenser! I’ve never had one of those in a minibar!
The staff were incredibly friendly and totally accommodating. Just the right mix of being attentive and smiley as well as giving you space to breathe. `I didn’t want I ordered room service twice and both meals were excellent. I especially liked a White Chocolate Cheesecake (see this Instagram!) which tasted like a little slice of heaven. Me and Dal also hit the Bar at the W which we’ve both been to before and went a little wild. It was so much fun though, considering we both hate West End clubs and bar’s it wasn’t too stuffy or pretentious!
My only niggle, and obviously this isn’t the Hotels fault. It can get a tad noisy. All weekend there were people tumbling out of Cafe De Paris and whatnot, and it was just a bit annoying. Obviously this isn’t the hotel's fault, and when you are staying right on Leicester Square you can’t really expect peace and tranquility.
The W Hotel in Leicester Square is the perfect centre of town spot. It’s so glam, chic and luxe. It plays up to a younger, more image conscious crowd, but would be the ideal location for a romantic getaway or girls' night! It was the base I really needed during LFW and it took the stress out of my experience completely.
