To follow up from my post from a few weeks ago called “Making Makeup Work for You” in which I talked about knowing when to edit your makeup routine. An awesome quote in the comments from Ash B (check her blog A Beauty Moment) got me thinking. She talked about "Freedom of makeup application” and the fact that "just because it's different doesn't mean it's wrong." I couldn’t agree with her more. I know people who apply their eyes first then their base and there are those people who apply their base including their cheeks first then move to eyes. I apply my makeup in this order: Primer, Foundation, Concealer, Eyebrows, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara, Powder, Bronzer, Highlighter, Lips. I don’t know why I do it, but that's just the routine I’ve got into and that is what is normal to me. My best friend applies her concealer before her foundation and always finishes her base before moving onto eyes. Doesn’t mean that it is wrong, it's just different from how I do it!
What order do you apply makeup in?
