spring makeup looks : pow neon!
estee laude double wear foundation, kevyn aucoin SCULPTING powder, mac groundwork paint pot, Bourjois Beauty’Ful Volume Mascara*, urban decay 24/7 glide on lip liner in ozone*, barry m 52 lipstickNeon is a trend that comes around every year but is probably the most hard makeup trend to interpret to something more wearable. I can't say that wearing a neon pink eyeshadow is something I’d ever consider wearing myself, It just doesn't fit in with my everyday look. Neon blush doesnt suit my complextion as it's too olive toned... None the less Neon can be a really wearable trend depending on how you look at it. My trick is Neon Lips. Neon lips are the perfect way to add colour while also playing it safe. Neon Lips > Neon Eyes.
Taking influence from the flawless natural base of the New Nudes trend we covered a few days ago, I kept the rest of my makeup simple. Therefore leaving the lips ready for the big neon focus. I used my favourite full coverage base - Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation - to give a perfect canvas. I lightly applied MAC Groundwork Paint Pot to give my lids a bit of colour without drawing too much attention. On my lashes, I used the Bourjois Beauty’Ful Volume Mascara to give myself a wide-eyed doll look. I added a light contour to the cheeks just to give some shape with the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting powder. It's really natural and ideal for adding a subtle amount of shape to the face without adding orange tones. It's very grey-brown and neutral in tone so adds a shadow rather than warmth.
Now for the lips. . Using a lipliner that matches your lipstick shade would also help with the longevity of the product but I don't actuality own a neon lip pencil. So I lined my lips with the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in Ozone. This is a clear lip liner, but it prevent bleeding and my lipstick going all over my face! I think neon lips look best when they are matte, so I used a drugstore favourite in the form of Barry M 52. A super bright neon pink which draws focus to the mouth. Admittedly this is quite a chalky formulation, but personally it doesn't bother me too much.
