4 spring beauty trends to try

A New Nude:

Keeping the base nude and natural was all over the spring 2014 catwalks during fashion week. There was a renewed emphasis on the skin and keeping it looking as flawless, but also as natural as possible. Matte velvet skin finishes have taken over from the dewy looks from the past few seasons. With powder making a firm comeback. I always think spring time is the perfect period to let natural beauty shine through. So with a bit of help from a touch of foundation, a dab of concealer and dusting powder anyone can easily achieve a natural flawless look.

Swinging 60’s:

This spring beauty trend is closest to the makeup I wear on a daily basis. As I take lots of influence from the 60’s style of big lashes, lots of liner and a little heavy on the brows. This spring is the season to master the liquid liner flick. Pair this with a soft velvety powdered skin look and you’re on track for a retro look even Twiggy would be envious of!

Going Grunge:

Now I'm not talking about throwing back to your teenage years, applying pure black eyeshadow all over the lid. Going grunge is all about keeping it simple with a big emphasis on the eyes but keeping everything else quite nude and natural. Things like smudging out and extending the lower lash line, adding a bit of subtle bronze tones into a smokey eye and darkening up the eyes soft blacks all add to the lived in look. Your aiming for a smudged, dirty kinda look when in reality it took me 30 minutes to make it look like you've " been wearing it for days".

POW!

Neon is a spring trend that comes around most years, but it’s one of those trends that is super easy to get on board. If you’re not afraid of a neon lip then jump straight in with a technicolour pop of pink. The idea of neon eyes might scare some, but I think it’s a fun trend, especially paired with nude skin. Keep on area bright and the rest very nude and neutral.

Check back over the rest of the week to see my take on these four trends...
