A few days ago I was browsing the Space NK website, not something I do all that often but it was around 4am and I was bored. I ended up buying a few bits as I felt like indulging my frivolous side. While on reflection I think it could have been just 4am looniness, now as I look back over the prices and hang my head in shame. Anyway it's done now and although most of the things I picked were very pricey, I am very excited about pretty much all the products I ended up with!
Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil is something I've been hearing a lot about recently. As my brows are pretty tame these days, I don't really need to fill them in much. The front bits are still a bit sparce and do need a little bit of filling in. Emphasis on the little! As they are so thick it's so easy to over fill and they look way too done. The pencil is a wax to powder style formula, which on first application I felt was really stiff. The pencil has a unique triangle shape which is great for sculpting and getting precise lines. It was pricey but I know all Hourglass stuff is. I've used this a few times since I got it and all I can say is Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. BigBig Love. My brows look very natural and defined without looking over done or full of product. Another Hourglass product I decide to give a whirl is the new Ambient Lighting Powders, I saw a Youtube video on these and I was sold immediately. As far as I'm aware are designed to mimic certain lighting situations and diffuse light on the skin. I went with the Diffused Light shade which is a pale yellow designed to reduce redness and give a soft diffused glow on the skin. I've heard a lot of rave reviews of this so I have really high hopes. I did get it applied on me while in Space NK yesterday and it looked pretty, very soft focus and brightening I can wait to try it out myself. It's probably the most excited I've been over a finishing powder ever!
Another makeup item I also picked up was the Kevyn Aucion Creamy Glow in Tansoleil. I saw this in store when I bought my Kevyn Aucion Sensual Skin Enhancer but they didn't actually have any left in stock. It's a beautiful bright orange shade which would add a pop of colour to the cheeks. I've been really loving cream blush recently so I hope I fall in love with it too.
Phyto Gloss Treatment in Golden was a spur of the moment purchase, I haven't even found any reviews of it so I don't even know if it's going to be good or not! It's described as being a colour glossing treatment- so I presume it's something designed to give a nice glossy look to the hair. It also talks about being a colour enhancer so I think it also might revive some of my blonder highlights as they fade. I don't often buy things just off their description but it really interested me! I also bought the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray after hearing some rave reviews about it on various blogs. I keep wincing at the price I paid for it, £18 for a very small can… but I'm a sucker for blog hype and I'm hoping it might give my dull limp hair a bit of body and texture! It's being ridiculously hard to style at the moment!
So, that was my mini Space NK haul, I feel a bit guilty that I spent so much on some of these products but most of them were ones I really wanted to try out for a while. I've already fallen for the brow pencil and the rest I cant wait to get my grubby little paws on! Reviews will follow in due course!
