As the new year is upon us, I’ve decided to go through another Mascara cull. I did this last year, which you can see here. Mascaras to go off the quickest of all beauty products. I generally try and use a new one after a month or two, but you should throw them out at around the 6 month mark.Today I've pulled some of the mascaras I’m parting with to do a few mini reviews and rundowns.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam: It feels like mascara wands are getting thicker, fatter and larger with each new release. This mascara has an oversized rounded figure of 8 type of shape, which I initially found very awkward to apply. While it did coat lashes well and build length and volume. I do feel I had to use quite a few layers to get it close to looking like how I like my lashes. Overtime I just didn't think it was that good and there are much better drugstore mascaras out there than this one. It was average at best.

No7 Extravagant Lash Volume Mascara:This was my mascara of choice for the hotter months as the waterproof formula prevented me from getting panda eyes in tricky situations. This mascara has a short chubby little brush which coats each lash and gives a lovely volusimed look. The waterproof formula meant it was perfect for my holiday And when hayfever struck. It could get a little bit spider lash-y when over applied, but if you use sparingly and layer up slowly you get a lovely doll eyws look. I think this mascara from No 7 is really underrated and possibly one of my favourite drugstore mascaras.

Pur Minerals Big Blink Mascara: I'd never really heard of Pur Minerals before I received this mascara in the post one day. I wasn't really fussed with it at first as it isn't a "known" brand to me. Which is super ignorant of me and I should really learn to stop judging books by their cover! One day I couldn't find my usual mascara, so I decided to give this one a go as it was lurking in my "to review box". Boy was I impressed! From the first stroke, my lashes had so much definition and really pushed up effect. The long brush is a plastic chubby wand seems to works best for my lashes. Other positives of this mascara include the fact that it's super black, non clumping and infused with Argan Oil. Definitely a big thumbs up from me.

Chanel Les Volumes D'Chanel:This is my "Holy Grail" mascara, and I'm surprised I haven't repurchased it since it dried up a few months ago, I'm a hoarder, I know! This is the best mascara I've ever used hands down. So black, so lengthening, so volumizing and just the perfect all round mascara. It really opened up my eyes and gave a wonderful dramatic look. There isn't really a whole bunch I can say about this really because it just ticks all the mascara boxes ever.

Origins GinZing Mascara: This is another highly rated mascara too. It gives me really dramatic wide-eyed doll look, pushing up my lashes to hold a curl all the while lengthening and volumizing. This one is a really chunky fibre bristled brush, they are quite sparsely spaced out. I had no issues with applying to the upper lashes, but I did struggle a little to apply to the lower lashes because of the size, but I did eventually get used to it. It pushes my lashes up with dramatic volume without looking like a spidery mess. My only niggle would be that it did start to fade and flake during the day and a waterproof version of this wouldn't go a-miss! It's also worth noting that its paraben free and not tested on animals!
Any mascara recommendations for me to try next?
