Estee Lauder Chocolate Foil & Estee Lauder Metallic Green: £14*
The Estee Lauder Metallics Nails collection for Fall 2013 came through my door last week, and I thought I'd swatch it up. Although metallics aren't to my person taste, I have been strangely drawn to these shades. The polish itself is very thick and pigmented, in fact one of the most pigmented nail shades I've tried. One coat was enough to cover the nail completely opaque, without the need for a second coat. The finish is very metallic and shines really nicely depending on the lighting. The polish finish is semi matte and almost mirror like finish, it resembles metal at its melting point. The downside is that they do show every flaw on the nail, so this won't be suitable for ridged nails without a decent ridge filling basecoat. Estee Lauder Chocolate Foil is a medium chocolate brown with a pink undertone, and Estee LauderMetallic Green is a medium cool toned green. Out of the two Metallic Green is my favourite, emerald nails are big for autumn winter so I can see this gracing my nails at some point.
The quality is there to justify the price, but I do think it's a skippable collection of polishes. Although the collection does have a lovely rose gold shade which I thought was really gorgeous. If you're into your metallics then it might be worth checking out but personally I'd just pass.
