Today I had to take an impromptu trip back home to see my parents. I've had to take Aerys with me which wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be. She actually slept most of the way on the train, but the train station wasn't very enjoyable for her at all. So many noises she didn't know what to do with herself. Poor little kitty. I feel awful putting her through such a long journey, but I couldn't really leave her alone for a week or more. I'm not even sure how long I'm going to be back for yet. She is my cat after all, not our houses (despite them being totally cool with it and all love her very much), and I didn't want to lumber her with my housemates so early on. Plus she's really attached to me already. To the point she won't sleep unless she's touching me so when I'm working, and she's sleepy she won't sleep unless she can settle down with me. I am trying to get her to sleep with a water bottle instead though! She seems to be quite settled so far at my Mum's. But I cant help but feel like such an awful pet owner taking her away from her new home so soon.

I roped my brother into take some outfit photos for me. He's not arty in the slightest and barely knows how to use a camera but he managed alright with a little direction from me. I don't know if I'll blog while I'm up here because I haven't really planned for it. I just chucked all my clothes into my suitcase this morning because I was in such a tizz. We'll see. This is just my usual go-to travelling outfit. Comfy jeans, jumper and a blazer paired with a solid pair of boots. Easy simple, comfy. Nothing groundbreaking!

  8. Aw, traveling with a young pet is always rough.
Definitely a great traveling outfit - looks beyond comfy. I asked my brother to take outfit pictures for me, and he always cropped something out, whether it was the top of my head, or my shoes, or just zoomed in far too much on purpose. Oh boyyy.

  21. Really disappointed at how irresponsible you've been with your young cat, especially bearing in mind how influential popular bloggers are over young girls. This is the opposite of how you should treat a young vulnerable kitten who has only been with you for a matter of days. The fact that you've had her a few days and aren't putting her first already really concerns me.

    1. You're so rude! How is it irresponsible? Irresponsible would be leaving the cat on its own for a week! If you watch her videos it's obvious she's besotted with it! She obviously had a family emergency and have to leave. You're being pretty unfair.

    2. I'm with Elspeth, you can't just uproot a kitten after a tiny settling in period. The cat's going to be really confused and upset with all the change. (I've had cats since I was a baby, and 10 of them at that, so I'm not being rude or chatting rubbish, I'm genuinely concerned for the cat)

    3. How am I being rude? It's irresponsible because the first few weeks of a kittens life in your home are the most important and if you can't put it's welfare first then you shouldn't own it. I used to work in a cat shelter and our advice to people taking home kittens is to only leave them in one room for the first week or so because anything more can overwhelm them and cause deep trauma that can effect the cat for the rest of its life. I think the only person being unfair is Lily and she's setting a dangerous example.

    4. Well life happens doesn't it? You have no idea of her personal circumstances.

    5. Yes life happens but ultimately when you're responsible for another animal's welfare you should put it first, especially when it's at its most vulnerable.

    6. i should probably add It's nothing personal to Lily I'm just a complete animal lover and feel really strongly about this.

  33. I love your boots! Also, don't feel too bad about travelling around with Aerys, I have to travel with my baby pug puppy quite a lot & have done since I had her. I felt really awful moving her around so much but she actually coped really well bless her! Aerys is absolutely adorable, so just enjoy being a kitten mama & try not to worry, she's happy as long as she's with you! (:
