Mum always raves about The Green Cafe and has been wanting to take me here for ages. We've just never got around to actually coming down. My Mum's bakery provides the bread (it's amazing, if I do say so myself), and the produce is as locally sourced as possible. I had Spicy Tagliolini and my Mum had Langoustine and Scallops (fancy). We slurped on Tea Pigs Peppermint tea and Earl Grey and ate down on some cheese and cake. I had Lemon Polenta: it's my favourite. The Tagliolini was so good, really fresh tasting with lots of flavours, and the lemon cake was just… wow. Absolutely delicious and well worth having to wait a few extra minutes for it to cool down after it came straight out the oven. I can see why it's always so busy and hard to get a table without a reservation. It's insanely good, and a must visit place if you're in the area. Tasty, simple and really hits the spot.

Maybe a bit in love with your coat Lily, so nice! We still have family traditions even now, every Sunday we have the same little routine, no texts, no calls, just the same time etc. (: hope you're having a lovely time back home! xx

Sounds like such a lovely day out. I used to have a very similar ritual when I lived in Devon, me and my friends would always meet in the street a bit after school and then go down to the river, then home for tea, then round to one of their houses to watch evening telly for a bit. Those were the days!
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kinda cafe, I love places that source stuff locally, and I suddenly want to turn my hand to making polenta cake...

Love old memories like that. One of mine is going away every easter with a whole group of family friends. The dads played golf, the mums talked and got pampered and the kids just played together all day/night. Some of my most treasured memories!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that food. It's making me hungry! Locally sourced produce always tastes the best xo Jess
