I talked about my simple skincare routine a few moths ago but since then it has grown a little in size thanks to some recent skincare additions. I still think keeping skincare simple is the best way, but by adding a few key products I've expanded a little to treat a few different skincare problems I've had over the past month or so. All of which have done nothing but improve my skin and make me feel loads better about my face.
Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Lotion has wormed it's way into my routine after I was recommended it at an event. It's a Chemical Exfoliator along the same lines as Alpha H liquid Gold but I find it's gentle enough for daily use rather than 1-2 times a week of Liquid Gold. I apply this morning and night on a clean cotton pad after cleansing. The gentle exfoliation has reduced a lot of the scarring on the left side of my face, while also leaving my skin looking fresh and glowy on a daily basis.
I've done a more in depth post on Hydraluron and Pepta-Bright but the duo have been a dream team since I added them to my Skincare routine I've noticed a huge difference in my overall skin tone and plumpness. The Hydraluron is a moisture booster, packed full of Hydraluloric Acid which helps skin retain moisture. While Pepta-bright is an intense brightening treatment which fades scarring and brings luminosity to the skin. Both have really improved my skincare routine ten fold.
Face Mask wise I've added the Nude Skincare Micracle Mask. Now I never expect miracles with a product, especially one that claims to be a miracle worker. However I've been pleasantly surprised with this mask. It takes about 5 minutes and leaves my skin looking fresh, exfoliated and positively radiant. I adore the way my skin feels after using this, literally like a thousand angels have swooped down and landed tons of kisses all over my face. Smoother than a babies bottom some might say!
I've also returned to using Bioderma Sensibio h2O (partly thanks to the UK Launch of Bioderma!) on those nights where walking to the bathroom is a little too tough for my lazy bum to manage. Or I've been using it as a pre cleanse for my eyes and lips before going in with my beloved Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel. I don't like to use it alone all that much because I prefer to actually wash my face with some water, but it is very quick and easy to do!
I've also started using the La Roche Posay Effaclar K, which is very similar to the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo which I constantly rave about but it's not quite as harsh as the Effaclar Duo. Although I love the Effaclar Duo the Effaclar K is perfect for daily use, I try to keep the Effaclar Duo for days when my skin looks like its breaking out and the Effaclar K all the other times. I do think they are fairly similar products in terms of what they do so it might just be worth sticking with one depending on how bad/good your skin might be! Basically I think Effalcar K is a milder version of the Duo but does the same sort of job.
Have you tried any skincare bits that have wowed you recently?
