clarins splendours colour quartet and liner palette
As soon as I saw this eye palette I did a bit of a gasp, Its Beau-ti-ful. Just beautiful. I've gushed about the collection already and recently reviewed the Clarins Splendours Limited Edition Summer Bronzer earlier this week. To briefly recap,The Clarins summer collection for 2013 is inspired by South America and the Aztec's. Splendours is inspired by the embellishments, glittering bronzes, golds and splashed of exotic rubies, jades and sapphires. It's sad to get excited about makeup, but the Splendours Collection really does it for me, It's beautiful!
The Splendours Eye Palette is a quartet of four shimmer shades including a copper, a pale gold, a rose gold and a deep plum and a creamy dark plummy black eyeliner. All wonderfully presented in the classic Clarins style packaging and the shadows embossed with the theme of the Splendours collection. All the shades are butter soft and pigmented, they apply well without a primer and really last all day. The eyeshadows can be mixed and matched to create a simple everyday look or a more smokey evening look. In the photos I've used the copper shade on the lid then darkened up the outer corner and lined the lower lash line with the plum. I really like the warmth and depth it gives to the eyes and how pretty it looks applied. I've worn the shades in a few different ways too including the pale gold on the lid and the copper in the crease, the plum on its own with the eyeliner shade to darken and smoke it out a bit. It's worth noting the eyeliner shade is actually a very creamy formula which surprised me as I just assumed it'd be one of those chalky dry matte type of liners!
Overall I really like this palette and I wouldn't highly recommend it. I know I'm biased as the Clarins Splendours Colour Quartet and Liner Palette is basically my dream eyeshadow palette. Packed full of wonderful warm tones that compliment my skin tone and my eye colour. As it's a summer collection they will all really compliment tanned skin and add warmth and depth to the eyes. I think it's really versatile and very easy to wear. I can see the tones suiting a variety of skin tones and tastes. The palette is also very small so perfect for travelling or holiday evening makeup looks. While at £31 it's not the cheapest of neutral shimmery summer palettes out their but I really cant fault the quality or the design. It's not only a piece of art but a wonderful product. So far this is my favourite summer limited edition eye palette!
