Bit Faker, Sun Baker, Champers, Marbs & Poole
A few nights ago I popped along to a Butter London event with Lina before we went to our weekly Ukelele Lesson. I've never actually tried Butter London before so when I saw in my goody bag that they'd been super generous and given us almost all the Butter London Summer Holiday 2013 collection I knew I had to get home and swatch it up! Butter London have recently launched in Boots stores and retail for £12 a bottle. On the pricey end of nail polishes but I cannot fault their formula, They apply smoothly and effortlessly and dry very quickly. All of their nail polishes are free from the 3 big nasties that come in some nail polishes- DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde. I was really intrigued by the sleek black rectangle shaped packaging as it really makes the polishes feel luxe. All of the polishes I swatched were two coats opaque, even Bit Faker which is a glitter. None of them were hard to work with in the slighest and the larger brush meant application was really quick.
Bit Faker is a super glittery full coverage bronze glitter which is absolutely stunning. It reminds me of shimmering sands and would be the perfect compliment to a bronzed tan. Sun Baker is a orange rust shimmer, I don't often like shimmers but the fiery copper shade is beautiful and really eye catching. Champers is a beautiful rose gold shimmer. I've been looking into getting a rose gold nail polish for a while and this ticks the box perfectly. Poole is a creamy egg blue shade which is the perfect mix between swimming pool blue and lagoon green. Marbs is a funny one, it's a very gold very shimmer. Very bling-y for lack of a better word! The other shade in the Butter London Summer Holiday Collection is Bobby Dazzler, I wasn't given this one but it's described as a opaque silver chrome shade.
It's hard for me to pick my favourite as it's a close toss up between Bit Faker as I don't own anything similar to it and Champers which is also a shade that I don't currently have in my nail polish collection. I can see all of these being perfect paired with a nice deep tan… Soooo where's the sun then?
Available from Boots, Harvey Nicols and Butter London Online
