Eyeliners for the Perfect Cat Eye

I wear cat eye flicks almost everyday, I have done for about 5 or so years now. I have quite small eyes and I find flicks really enhance my natural eye shape and open up my eye area. I don't think I look like "myself" when I don't wear it! I use a few different products to achieve this look I don't normally stick to one eyeliner but rotate a few in and out of my regular routine. But the ones mentioned in this post are the ones I tend to stick to. Qualities I look for in eyeliner are really opaque dark black eyeliner that doesn't fade or go grey as its worn, water resistant, smudge proof, quick drying and non-irritable on my sensitive eyes.

When I use liquid eyeliner I would normally opt for L'oreal Superliner Carbon Gloss, It was my first eyeliner and been the one I go back to again and again. I love it's black glossy finish and how easy it is to apply and get a nice precise shape. The applicator is really long, soft and spongy which makes it so easy to do a flick, the pointed tip means you can get a nice thin flick at the end. But because its flimsy you can apply various pressure to get a thick or a thin line.

My favourite gel eyeliner is the Fashionista Gel Eyeliner. This has really nice consistency, its not too stiff but not too greasy either which can lead to gel eyeliners to be slippy and transfer during application. It's very black and pigmented and applies well to the upper lashline without transferring. I would usually apply this using a thin liner brush like a MAC 211 but the brush encased in the packaging works really well for travelling or when you're on the go. Apoligies for the gold one being pictured, I literally cant find my black one anywhere! Just imagine it's black!

Pixi Lash Line Ink is a black, very thin nibbed pen eyeliner. I find it incredibly easy to use and perfect to create my signature flick. The liner part is so thin and precise its perfect for making precise flicks without building up too much thickness. Its smudge proof, relatively waterproof, black and dries really quickly. I don't normally like pen liners as they dry out very quickly and lose their pointedness but I've been using this practically everyday for about a month now and I've had 0 problems with it so far!

I don't often wear pencil eyeliner as I feel it makes my eyes smaller. However on the rare occasion I do I would reach for the Rimmel Scandaleyes Pencil. These pencils are very creamy, easy to apply and perfect for blending out on the upper lash line. Also they last well on the waterline too. I think they retail for around £4 each which is the best price point for a product like this.
