Clarins Christmas 2012

Yesterday I was invited along to a Clarins blogger event, Like I mentioned in my Beauty Flash balm review I find Clarins a bit overwhelming so given the opportunity to sit down in a non-shopping way and take a look at some products was really enjoyable. I've got a fair few products to show you from their new releases and then I'm going to be reviewing them over the next few weeks. But I just wanted to take a minuite to show you the Odyssey collection first as it's just too gorgeous to pass up on. This seasons Clarins Christmas makeup collection takes inspiration from the greek gods and is offering up two absolutely stunning limited edition compacts. Both palettes come in a beautiful soft gold compact with a stunning circular pattern.

The Oydessy Eye Quartet Mineral Palette retails for £30 and is a collection of four complimentary long wearing eye colours that are perfect for day or night. A brown, beige, a taupe bronze and a beautiful gold leaf highlighter. The gold leaf highlight is absolutely incredible, with a soft high glitter finish that doesn't produce any fall out. It has a strange texture but it looks and feels wonderful when applied. These can also be used wet or dry to create different effects. It's a really versatile palette and I can't wait to play around with it some more! The shadows all are buttery soft and super pigmented, you won't be disappointed if you try this!

The Oydessy Face palette is £35 and is possibly the most beautiful makeup item I've ever seen in my whole life. Even to the point I don't actually want to swatch it! I just can't bare to stick my brush in their and wipe away the pattern. It's a silky soft illuminating powder that enhances the complexion and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles leaving the skin looking even and radiant. It also claims to be suitable for all skin tones. The gold is actually a overspray and I don't find the product itself to be that shimmery, just really illuminating and brightening.

Honestly, I was a bit too excited when I got my hands on these and really had to restrain myself until I could take photos of them to show you. I think these would make perfect Christmas gifts or if like me you're a neutral junkie and you want to add some new shades. They are on counter from October and you will be able to get them from most places that stock Clarins, Like Boots, department stores and online.
