These Primark Autumn Winter Preview photos hit the internet weeks ago now, but I thought in my vague attempt to put more ~proper fashion~ content onto my blog I thought i'd post them here with my own take on it. Primark isn't somewhere I've shopped for a very long time. I've picked up bits and there but nothing of much note. I even got a comment asking why "I never wear stuff from Primark anymore", Simply put the Spring Summer Primark Collection was just not to my taste. I don't really do girly, and I hate most of the printed stuff they do (especially florals, not nice!)  I just haven't really been turning to it like I used to! I have nothing against Primark, Im not a snob at all when it comes to cheaper brands! The thing about Primark is that its pretty disposable, I know not everyone agrees with disposable/fast fashion and thats your choice. I feel that when your younger you want the key trends without having to spend the cash. Its great place for fast fashion at affordable prices!

The Primark A/W Collection for 2012 is pretty much what I would expect from Primark. I think their knitwear is excellent, especially for cheaper knits. Topshop is much worse in my opinion! You can imagine lots of the usual Autumn Winter details including studs, collars, panelling, leather accents, chain print, dogtooth, alpine knits and much more. I also see the Isabel Marant inspired wedge trainers (I've seen this in store already!) I especially love the cropped paisley trousers, they actually remind me a bit of the Topshop Boutique Paisley print I love so much! I ADORE the long line black jacket, that needs to get into my wardrobe sooner rather than later! You can really see the boyish, 60's and more luxe gothic looks the shops like to do around A/W too!

I've seen some of the pieces creeping in already and I've got dibs on that Primark version of the infamous Zara leather sleeved jacket (really regret not getting that one!), I also hear that retails for a measly £25! Normally A/W hits around August time, so it's worth popping in! I hate shopping in Primark in London, although the new one on Tottenham Court Road is set to open in September so it might ease the pressure a bit! I live near the Tooting one so normally go there! I'm still saying that River Island AW12 is my favourite of all the collections I've seen so far but this one is edging up there with that!

  9. These look great. I totally agree with what you said about Topshop knitwear; Primark knit is great for the fashion target age group whereas Topshop knitwear tends to out price me (as a student). I'm looking forward to getting some! :) xx

  12. I share and understand your opinion on Primark. When I met Primark in 2009 when I went to Nottingham to study, I thought like you said is fast fashion at affordable prices, but with them I started noticing that their shoes didn´t last long, the shirts always had problems, not well done and so one. This year when I was in London I noticed that they were stepping up their game I guess, you can notice that they also are trying to keep on trend, I heard my friends complaining about their prices that were slowly going up, but the quality of the things is still not quite THERE yest in order to rise the prices.
Anywayyysss, I still shop at Primark for certain things, and that leather sleeved jacket like the ZARA/Burberry one aawww I so want it!

  17. Loved the lookbook, unfortunately I've seen some of the pieces this morning (including said Zara-inspired jacket) and the quality was awful! The rose gold pointed court shoes were a whole different story though!

  21. The Glasgow store has the Zara-esq jacket and its such a let down. Quality and fit are poor. The sleeves are vile.

  23. i have to get the leather sleeved zara-look-alike jacket!! sounds like a really good price for it!

  24. I bought the zara lookalike jacket today and yes it isn't as good as the Zara version but what do u expect for £25. I thought for Primark it is pretty decent quality and for once true to size.
If you want leather and quality then go find the Zara version! but i will be rocking this one3.

  26. I BOUT bought the Zara copy jacket today and love it soooo much already! It was only £25 and looks fab, the materials really lightweight too and not heavy like the Zara one so I'm made up :) x

    1. That meant to say 'bought' - a little tip, on the hanger in the shop the jacket looks rubbish, but when u put it on and loosen up the jacket and zip etc. it looks great! I think it'll be a sell out so if you want one then buy it ASAP! X

  27. I must say, my eyes popped out a bit when I saw this, and not with delight :) Those prints remind me too much of the largely unpleasant mid-80's fashion, and the sweaters were back then available in masses at market stands here in Germany, at 5 DM (less than 3€) a pop.
Sometimes it is not nice seeing certain fashions coming back ;)
