Origins Modern Friction: Origins (£30)
Since my Clarisonic disaster I've shyed away from alot of exfloiators as I've been really conscious about how badly they seem to effect my skin. After spending more time at the Origins counters and talking to the really helpful staff I decided to purchase Modern Friction. Its one of their best sellers and after trying it it's easy to see why. It leaves my skin soft and smooth and really fresh and clean without any of the harshness of some exfoliators. It claims to be good at sorting out discolouration and darker spots on the face and I have noticed since using this some of my scarred areas have started to improve. My favourite thing about this exfoliator is that it doesn't dry out my skin.
The conistancy is almost like a thick-ish glue with bits of sand in it. I apply it to dry skin and then start adding water to it so it forms a bit of a paste. It sort of foams slightly and then I wash it off with a muslin cloth. I have to say this product is so painful if you get it near your eyes. It makes my eyes burn if any of the froth gets near my eye area so be really careful when you do use it and especially when you wash it off. I use Origins Modern Friction every three or so days as its probably a bit harsh to use every day. I don't find it dries out my skin as it just leaves it soft and cleansed.
Its very expensive at £30 for a 125ml tube, which I realise is out of alot of peoples price ranges. I would repurchase this again once I run out but 125ml will last me a long time even using it a few times a week.
Skincare Disclaimer: I personally think skincare is incredibly subjective. I'd never run out and get something on the suggestion of one person. What works for me, may not work for you. I personally don't feel comfortable recommending skincare products, so all reviews are based on my own experiences with the product mentioned. Remember to look up other reviews and make sure you reference the reviewers skin type. My skin is Oily-Combination. I don't tend to get breakouts, but when I do they are on my chin. Also, cutting out dairy from my diet has also improved my skin of late.
