001. Had a pretty good weekend soaking up the sun and watching the Eurovision. The weather is to DIE for so I've spent most of my time drinking Iced coffee mocha's from Starbucks and sitting in the sun! I also went to a blogger event on Saturday which I actually really really enjoyed. Was the perfect mix of being able to chat to other bloggers as well as having brands explain their products to you without being too much pressure! I've also never seen such a well dressed bunch of people! Made me feel incredibly underdressed in my oversized black tunic and leopard flats! I got some url's of some bloggers which I still haven't gone through yet, but honestly their outfits all put my efforts to shame!
002. Week one without fake tan really went very badly. Considering I was so good for a whole week and then ended up fake tanning last night before I went out. Oops. I should really be trying to get a real tan rather than bronzing up! But I just can't resist it sometimes! I won a Xen Tan goody bag at the Bloggers Boutique event I went to! I literally cannot wait to crack that out! I've always wanted to try higher end tanners! I normally use St Moritz Dark Mousse which I reviewed on ETCLLYMLRS a few days ago!
003. I really need to buy a new foundation but Im finding it quite hard to decide which one I want to get. My skin has really cleared up recently, and Im getting fed up of the dull/cakiness of matte skin. I want something glowy, but not dewy, sort of semi matte and low to medium coverage. I can't believe I'm giving up full coverage though! Im so happy with myself! I have such an odd skintone I can't ever seem to find the right foundations for my skin!
004. I'm also looking for product recommendations of things I could possibly review while Im on holiday in a few weeks. Im going away for two weeks, coming back for 10 days and then going off on holiday again so I'd really like to use that time to try out some waterproof, tanning, long lasting products, summer essentials and other stuff like that while Im there. Any ideas of things I could try would be great! Especially things you like to take on holiday with you!
005. Im thinking of getting a new Mulberry purse, as I love my pink one so much! Would you go for brown or black?
PS. Remember to enter my latest giveaway for a River Island Rose Gold Watch!

OH, i wish I went to the event! Hope you had fun x
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful week! x
ReplyDeleteTry Nars Sheer Glow - still has a decent amount of coverage and makes your skin look so healthy. They have quite a good shade range too x

Hmm well for light and glowy, the product I'd recommend is no7's BB cream... Its basically just light coverage foundation, but its lovely to use.
ReplyDeleteBloggers Boutique photos are cropping up everywhere :) Looks like it was a fun day
It would be mine
i really really like your hair color! good to hear you had a great weekend! i want to attend a blogger event one of these days. i bet it's a lot of fun meeting everyone who sits behind their computers blogging their butts off. LOL.

An epic product to take on your holidays is Reimann's P20 or P10 sun oil. It's amazing, allows you to tan, but protects your skin ALL day regardless of swimming or sweating or whatever. Honestly, give that a go - you won't be disappointed!

seems like you had a great and eventful week :D
ReplyDeletewish they would do more blogger events here more often -.-
I would say you should go for a black mulberry. definitely more versatile :))
xoxo FlirtingwithFashion
I would say you should try Chanel's Vitalumiere - it's medium coverage but it might be too 'dewy' (although I powder it down which takes away any shine).
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the exact name of it, but I've just finished a Rimmel foundation which had a very slight and fine shimmer which was nice and glowy.

ReplyDeleteI am loving anything from Hawaiian Tropic at the moment, their after sun body butter is to die for!!! I would defo recommend this for your holiday!!! x

I would find a 'travel essentials' post interesting, and definitely some waterproof make up reviews as well :).

Banana Boat dark tanning oil is amazing for a rich, deep bronze tan. The only problem with it is it has such a low SPF! Boo :(
ReplyDeleteI would recommend the bourjois healthy mix - its cheap and cheerful but a great summer foundation, and I absolutely swear by it! And the bloggers boutique sounded great - was so disappointed that I couldn't make it!

I love makeup forever face and body foundation. Basically any face and body foundation is perfect, as they're quite light and provide low-medium coverage :) xo
ReplyDeleteI couldn't go out without having tan on! I take breaks from it when I know I won't be going out to clubs but even then, I just feel so undone without a tan! I've heard lots of good things about xen tan xo
ReplyDeleteim the same i can never get foundations that match my skin, its so annoying xx
ReplyDeleteluv those sunglasses!!

Hey Lily :)
ReplyDeleteI'm the useless girl who was lost outside the station! Thank you for being so lovely & it was nice to meet you :)

Go for black, and I swear by Chanel's Perfection Lumiere Foundation, it is just the right balance of dewy without being shiny: http://www.theglossyguide.com/2012/04/product-review-chanel-perfection.html
ReplyDeleteHad a brilliant time on Saturday too! It was great to get to know the person behind the blog really. Also, if you're looking for a new Mulberry purse, I'd go for the Concertina purse. They're quite hard to get by, but they are gorgeous! I absolutely love mine!

I'd recommend trying Boots Natural Collection Tinted Moisturiser. I was like you in the way that I used full coverage foundation ALL.THE.TIME. I never thought I'd be able to stop, but my skin got really n ice and I wanted to show it off more and try something that didn't cake it. I took the tinted moisturiser on hols as an alternative to foundation and have never looked back. I have 3 different shades that I mix to suit my skin tone whether I'm wearing tan or not and its only £1.99. Deffo worth a try for hols!

I was gutted I didn't get to attend that event, especially now I'm reading all about it on twitter too! Sounds like you had fun though lovely and came out with a great goody bag! Bet you're excited for your jollies. I think you should invest in a black Mulberry purse, classic colour!

Have you tried the L'Oreal Lumi Magique foundation? It's not as full coverage but still gives you coverage but isn't too matte or anything, has quite a nice dewy glow.
ReplyDeleteAhh, I'm forever lusting over anything Mulberry.. considering splurging on a purse of theirs for my 21st (if only it was an actual bag I was considering splurging on, eh!) but I think I'd personally go for brown, but maybe base it on which colour bags you use more? Sorry for the mini essay length comment! xx
No7 Protect & Perfect Foundation from Boots is a good high street foundation, it has good coverage but still feels light and is long lasting.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks so long and lovely in this post!
I'd go for black. xx

Sounds like you had a lovely week :) What about mac face and body, i have it and it's quite light :) x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely brown I think :-)
ReplyDeleteIn the summer I try to go for a lighter foundation. I am loving the EsteƩ Lauder invisible fluid at the moment. Its kind of like your skin but better. Its def not full matte more semi matte which you can either mattify with powder or just leave for a dewy natural glow. This has to be by far the naturalist foundations yet that doesn't scrimp on giving enough coverage by evening out the skin tone. EL are quite good with samples too so you can try before you buy.

Definitely black for the purse! Although I'd be more tempted to just buy the bag instead!

Seems like you had such an eventful & lovely week! I wish I lived in the UK so I could go to Bloggers Boutique! The photo's I saw were absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeletexoxo, Laura
I'd been using EL max cover for absolutely ages but felt the same as you a few months ago - Crap picture, but I fell in love with Lancomes teint idole ultra - Its REALLY light feeling, looking but with decent coverage, can't complain! http://fridayisforever.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/lancome-teint-idole-ultra-24h-review.html xx
ReplyDeletedefinitely try either nars sheer glow, or chanel vitalumiere aqua- dewy yet not shiny, and both have decent buildable coverage, perfect for summer!
ReplyDeletedewy skin is perfect for summer, I always want to shift to a tinted moisturiser, I just never quite get there. I would vote brown for the Mulberry purse, the leather always looks amazing in brown and it gets better with age. xxx
ReplyDeleteLike other people have said, tinted moisturiser is the way forward! I used Garnier BB Cream, and it kicks ass, as it gives decent coverage but without taking away your natural skin tone.
ReplyDeleteThat and I find once it's on, even if it rains, it doesn't tend to come off easily :) x

Get NARS SHEER GLOW foundation =)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the foundation hunt! I'm still trying to find the one.
ReplyDeletexx
I recommend either revlon photoready or bourjois healthy mix. Im so envious of you and your 2 holidays!

Buy and test Kinkini - its swim costume that tans through the fabric!

The designs are not great ( i got a leopod print swim suit)
I loved it! WHen i first bought it i thought it was going to look really see through but it was fine!!!! Best buy of the holiday!
Katy xxxxx
P.s i use lancome for my foundation - its the best
I love Bobbi Brown's Skin foundation, it's light coverage but buildable and blends so easily, they do a pretty good colour range as well. I've been using it for over a year now and haven't touched another liquid foundation! x
ReplyDeleteyou should deffinatly try lancome tient miracle, i usually go for matt faoundations but wanted something slightly glowing but not dewy because i have quite oily skin and that foundation is amazing, its medium coverage too and feels like theres nothing on your skin.
ReplyDeletelove your sunnies :)

You should try No7 bb cream, i use the oily/normal one and absolutely adore it! It says light/medium coverage and it feels like you have no make up on at all. Since using it I've noticed that my skin has cleared up too.
ReplyDeleteYou can also get £5 off No7 at the moment, which is always a bonus :)
I LOVE Bourjois healthy mix serum... semi-matt finish, medium coverage but buildable and lasts all day - very similar to chanel vitalumiere aqua - almost exactly the same product :)) I have tried loads of foundations but always go back to that one!
ReplyDeleteI had a blast watching Eurovision, can't believe Norway came last. I think a black purse would be nice, classic and smart x
ReplyDeleteBlack purse ! Loving your shades xx
