ghd hair stylers: ghd (£119)*

I've had GHD's for years, I got my first pair way back in 2006 for Christmas and surprisingly enough they are still going strong! I passed them onto my Mum a few months ago when I started using my Enrapture Totem styler all the time, but I was offered a pair to review so I though I'd accept. I was sent the purple set which is from the Limited Edition Peacock collection. The kit comes with a pair of the GHD gold stylers with coloured plates depending on which colour from the Peacock Collection you choose, a protective plate guard, a storage bag and a roll mat. Each roll is embellished with a intricate peacock design which is actually pretty nice considering I'm not one for decoration!

Like I said I've been using GHD's for years, despite the fact I don't wear my hair straight very often especially considering the fact my hair is naturally poker straight. I tend to use straighteners to curl, wave or flick out my hair rather than just straighten it flat. I tend to use the rounded barrel to do waves in the hair to give my hair texture and volume with a beachy finish. I like the boho finish it gives my hair when I use straighteners to curl compared to a curling wand.

I really like GHD stylers, They are so versatile as you can curl, wave and straighten with ease. The plates glide effortlessly through the hair to leave a sleek smooth finish without your hair feeling fried. The Styler heats up so quickly, I was actually shocked how quick it took for them to heat up and beep to tell me that they were ready for use! The tool also has a timer that automatically turns off after 30 minutes of not being used which is perfect for me as I always worry about forgetting to turn things off!

I really do think that GHD deserve the title of the Holy Grail of all straighteners and I can't imagine using a different pair, they really are amazing. They are expensive but are worth every penny, if they last as long as my old ones then they really are one of those hair tools that are worth investing in!

  3. I absolutely love my GHD's. Like you, I rarely straighten my hair as it's naturally poker straight but I use them for curling and waving and they're just fab! So versatile. I still find it odd when people actually don't use them, and opt for a different brand!

  6. Oh these are gorgeous. I don't know what I would do without my GHD's. Having longer hair I use the wide plates and its a shame that the wide plates don't come in a ltd. edition very often if ever. I tend to use them to curl too but am contemplating getting the originals for that alone as I am sure it would be easier to curl with a smaller plate.

  8. Love GHD's! The case looks gorgeous, very intricate and something different. I'm really annoyed because my GHD's have broken, don't know what I'm going to do in the time it's going to take me to save up for a new pair! xx

  12. I don't use my GHDs enough to be honest. I've had them years but my hair is naturally wavey and I like it like that so I only use my straighteners on the odd occasion. I do like the pattern on these though x

  17. What beautiful GHDs! I still remember a time when the only colour they came in were black! Can't justify investing in such pretty GHDs when mine are still going strong from 2006!

  25. I've been using GHD's since the very beginning, early 2003 and got my first own pair for Xmas in 2004. They lasted all the way through until 2010 when my dog tripped on the wire, pulled them off the side and they broke :( my new pair are fab though, I literally couldn't live without these straighteners...I can curl my long hair with them in 5 mins, as well as straighten when needed. Holy grail is an understatement!!! :)
