ghd hair stylers: ghd (£119)*

I've had GHD's for years, I got my first pair way back in 2006 for Christmas and surprisingly enough they are still going strong! I passed them onto my Mum a few months ago when I started using my Enrapture Totem styler all the time, but I was offered a pair to review so I though I'd accept. I was sent the purple set which is from the Limited Edition Peacock collection. The kit comes with a pair of the GHD gold stylers with coloured plates depending on which colour from the Peacock Collection you choose, a protective plate guard, a storage bag and a roll mat. Each roll is embellished with a intricate peacock design which is actually pretty nice considering I'm not one for decoration!

Like I said I've been using GHD's for years, despite the fact I don't wear my hair straight very often especially considering the fact my hair is naturally poker straight. I tend to use straighteners to curl, wave or flick out my hair rather than just straighten it flat. I tend to use the rounded barrel to do waves in the hair to give my hair texture and volume with a beachy finish. I like the boho finish it gives my hair when I use straighteners to curl compared to a curling wand.

I really like GHD stylers, They are so versatile as you can curl, wave and straighten with ease. The plates glide effortlessly through the hair to leave a sleek smooth finish without your hair feeling fried. The Styler heats up so quickly, I was actually shocked how quick it took for them to heat up and beep to tell me that they were ready for use! The tool also has a timer that automatically turns off after 30 minutes of not being used which is perfect for me as I always worry about forgetting to turn things off!

I really do think that GHD deserve the title of the Holy Grail of all straighteners and I can't imagine using a different pair, they really are amazing. They are expensive but are worth every penny, if they last as long as my old ones then they really are one of those hair tools that are worth investing in!
