topshop lipstick in whimsical: topshop (£7)

I saw this on the Topshop website a few days ago and made a mental note to swatch it when I went into Topshop. From the photos I knew it would be right up my street, anything coral pink and I'm like a magpie! Topshop Whimsical is a coral toned pinky nude lipstick with a matte full coverage finish. It's the perfect addition to my (always) growing coral lipstick collection. I like this one as the formula is less stiff and chalky than other lipsticks in the same colour family (see Nars Bolero, Barry M 147 and Topshop Coy). The finish is very creamy and semi matte: similar to the MAC Creamsheens. Its more of a creamy formula than a matte one though (Topshop state they are matte) which is a shame as overall I do prefer my lipsticks matte. However it isn't really a problem, it's a beautiful colour and applies well for a low end lipstick. Thumbs up from me!

  13. ah I'm so glad you reviewed this. I adore the name, it's so lovely haha, I'd totes buy it just because of its name. The colour isn't as strong as I would have expected, I didn't realise it was so nude? Not that it's a problem, I'd happily build it up. Looks good though anyway :)

  25. This looks lovely. I've had my eyes open for a good nude of late, but do tend to suffer from the 'corpse' syndrome unless I go for something a little more on the pinky side. My favourite lipstick colour group is definitely corals though, so this one looks perfect.
By the way, I was looking through an old issue (January?) of Company magazine at the weekend, and saw that you were chosen as one of their favourite bloggers, so congratulations on that one!

  27. Oh, I saw this on one of model pictures they have on the make-up stand - but they never have it in stock! My local toppers is rubbish for make-up, I've been popping in to check for this and Coy for ages but with no luck. Have to get it on line I guess.
