top 5 lip products of 2011

Over the first week of January I'll be covering my top 5 products of the previous year. I'll be covering skincare, face, eye shadow, other eye products, lips, cheeks and nails! Feel free to recommend me your top 2011 products in the comments!

l-r Anti-clockwise  MAC Cut a Caper, Chanel Chintz, MAC Please Me, Barry M Peachy Pink, MAC Shy Girl

Normally I wear pink or coral lips, and I typically go for matte formulas as there is nothing I dislike more than sticky, slippy lipstick or lipgloss. Some of the formulas I've chosen for my favourite lip of 2011 post are more creamy, but I tend to stick to matte shades. As you can see I like MAC lipstick, I really do think they have the best range of colours in lipsticks, and their matte formulation is to die for! So gutted two of their limited edition matte lipsticks from the Iris Apfel collection have sold out! You snooze you lose!

MAC Please Me Lipstick- (review here) Beautiful matte mid tone pink, great for day or night wear! Possibly my all time favourite lip colour, and definitely my most worn of 2011! I've recently repurchased this and I'm loving it even more than ever. Id be really sad if MAC discontinued it because its really my perfect shade!

MAC Shy Girl- My favourite peachy pink nude! Another second tube, as I first bought Shy Girl back in December 2009! As I have quite warm skin I struggle to find paler lip colours that suit me, this peachy nude is perfect for when I go heavier on the eyes and want a softer lip. I think it gives a really nice 60's feel to looks.

Barry M Lipstick in 147 Peachy Pink- Recent rediscovery after cleaning out may make up collection, but its always been a favourite of mine. A matte, slightly chalky true coral with a pink tint. Really cheap and cheerful! I also really like Barry M 52.

Chanel Lipstick in Chintz- A splurge product as I dont even want to look up how much I paid for it! But a really lovely nudey soft pink, really creamy and smooth. I dont wear it very often but I do really love it! Because its Chanel it makes it feel really luxe.

MAC Lipstick in Cut a Caper- Was my most worn towards the beginning of the year and its slowly running out so its on ration! Really creamy as its a lustre formula (my least fave!) but I can forgive it for being such a lovely shade! It is really moisturising though which is great for when I have dry lips! Im not sure if this is permanent or not as Im sure it was LE when I bought it!

Honorable Mentions: Nars Velvet Matte Pencil in Bolero, Illamasqua Obey, Burts Bee's Lipbalms, Collection 2000 Lock N' Pop Glosses, Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red and MAC Viva Glam Gaga

  10. You should try the M&S lipsticks in 'Mallow' - so moisturising without being shiny, and would fit in perfectly with all those light pinks! It's my 'go to' lipstick - and only £3 or so!

  28. Hey I was just wondering if you have tried the collection 2000 cream puff lip creams. They are lovely and the colours are mostly pinks.

  29. Probably a totes weird ass comment, but it always fascinates me to see how other people wear down their lippies! Mine always stay pretty flat, graduating into that curve. Really, I'm not an oddball! Haha!
