my new fringe

fake fringe via ebay (£4.59)

Ok, Ok, I'm sorry for my little porky pie over the past few days! I obviously didn't get my fringe cut! I was going to come clean on the day but I thought it would be fun to post it on my blog and see what people said about it! I've had full fringes in the past, its taken about two-three years to grow my last one out! I used to always say I looked like Caleb Followill circa Youth and Young Manhood with a full fringe! Victorias Boyfriend says I look like Claudia Winkleman, hahaha!

I've always been curious, ever since my emo days about fake fringes, and exactly how fake they may look in real life. This one was a fiver, so I thought why not! Its not really a serious thing, I doubt I'd wear mine out of my house as the top bit is very noticeably faux. Its taken me forever to get my center parting right so I dont think I can bring myself to change quite yet! I was surprised that I had a many positive comments about getting a fringe, and I do actually quite like the rockier full fringes a la Daisy Lowe and ma homegurl Rumi Neely! Maybe one day I'll take the plunge! Baby steps!

ETA: The fringe is fun, but I don't know if I'd recommend it if you want to wear it seriously. The top seam is quite noticeable when you wear it, If your tall and no one could see the top of your head it would be fine!

  1. I had a sneaking suspicion you wouldn't do something so drastic without blogging about it first! Looks great though x

  2. Omg you totally rock the fringe! Can see the claudia winkleman reference lol I used to have a full fringe and they are such hard work, when it was windy I used to walk around with my hand stuck to my head trying to stop it from going all crazy lol x

  8. I thought it was real, inspired me to try and find one of my own. I just thought I'd let you know two of your links are linking to Daisy Lowe; the 'ebay' link; the 'this one was a fiver'. Cheeky little lie though ;)

  23. I like the fringe! It makes you look more high fashion, somehow I think of a Barbie when I see the fringe. Take the plunge and get the real fringe! I love it on you. On me it would look bad because my hair is so thin.

  26. I saw this and I thought you actually cut your hair and was like OMG so amazing!
I was known through school with a full fringe and I suit it so I want to cut it back but I know how long it takes to grow out and looks awkward.
But you REALLY DO suit it! It's really wow. But I can see what you mean about it being fake. Maybe investing in a human hair one would be really cool if you're serious about having it! You can't tell on the photos though :) xx

  27. hahaha damn, i legit thought it was real. it matches your hair colour freakishly well. i kind of like the idea of a faux fringe. ive had a few fringes over the past few years and i always like them at first, but then i ALWAYS get sick of them, and the growing out part sucks! to be able to just clip one in would be amazing.
    sucks about the seam part!

  28. It looks really realistic and it's so cheap. I had a look at the ebay link and they don't have my colour :(

  29. You remind me of Sophie Habibis when she had her fringe put in! Having a fringe really suits you! :) x

  30. WAIT IT LOOKED SO REAL. Had me fooled girl ! Now I'm gonna be a little skeptical if you actually do go all blonde...

  31. I'm down with the fake fringe. I've had the real deal and remember wishing it would just go away. It's also annoying to grow out so your alternative is very cute.

  35. this is genius, looks so real and cute too! you really suit it :) totally wish i'd done that now instead of being stuck in this annoying growing out phase with my own fringe. x

  46. I love that last flick it's like a magic trick, fringe be gone !
Naa you actual look fab with and without it Lily (you cow), so glad you shared this as I always cut mine than regret it, but this is such a great way to mix up your look ....Without having to do the whole ' I'm growing it out' convo with peeps, as everyone looks a tad mad when it's midway and you have to do the pin back which half falls out increasing the mad look. Love it and that's far better than paying £30 !! I was going to get one a while back and was like for £30 I'll hack my hair. Love it xx
