sunday portrait week 66

 iphone suxx

001. Same old same old. Done pretty much the same as I do every week this week. Work/uni/work/uni. I'm back at work again which takes up so much of my time. Although I've been out alot this week seeing friends and stuff, which has been really nice. Next week is going to be a flurry of activity of the mundane kind. I've got a hand in, as well as working at my old job covering some shifts as well as doing my normal job. I don't know why I put myself through it! My dissertation needs to be handed in the week after too. But luckily that's finished!

002. I've been planning for my 21st, My Mum asked me what I wanted to for it and to be honest I dont know. Most things like jewellery and expensive bags I can probably buy myself so there is no point asking for that kinda stuff. So I posted on Twitter about it and I think most people agreed a holiday would probably be the kind of gift that lasts the longest. I either want to go to Paris or New York. Im lemming towards New York at the moment, but it depends. I hate flying so much.

003. Short again, But I do have posts scheduled for next week so fingers crossed there will be more to see!

  3. Do you hate flying because it's boring or because it's scary? If the latter you should read The Flying Book by David Blatner- puts to rest heaps of common concerns!

If it's cause it's boring- yeah, longhaul is pretty tiresome.

  6. I can't get over how stunning you look in your photo! you have the most amazing cheek bones fucking hell! wish i looked like that hahaha. I say new york! once in a lifetime oppurtunity and you could probably go to Paris more? I'm not sure though as Paris is such an amazing place! it's a hard choice. Exciting that your turning 21 soon! xo

  7. I feel your pain about the neverending cycle of work and uni. Whoever said uni was the best days of their lives clearly forgot the hermit-like living hell that's third year!

I'm going to throw my two cents in and agree with everyone else that a holiday is the best present for a 21st. I'm going to New York for mine in Sepember and I literally cannot wait, I keep procrastinating from writing my dissertation by reading about it on Wikipedia and planning things to do.

  8. Lovely pic! NYC would be incredible, I really wanna go. Everyone I know that's been says it's amazing and that they never wanted to leave! I can imagine getting so fat there though! Am actually off to Paris tomorrow so will let you know what I thought of it! x

  9. Nice one on finishing your dissertation!

I'd definitely say New York :) It's so amazing to be somewhere that you see so much on films and pictures. Plus no language barrier :)

Oh also MASSIVE bonus is that so much stuff is cheaper in New York than in England. Everything in Paris is SO expensive, I went the other week and I just couldn't justify going shopping and buying things I know I can get for cheaper in England.

But wherever you go I'm sure you'll love it :)

As for the birthday thing, i had plans to go to New York for my 21st but they fell through, but i deffo recomend it. I done a couple of weeks interning at a design company there and loved it.

Hope you manage to figure something out. :) x

It will be a big weight off your shoulders when its all done and dusted.

I'm planning on going to New York for my 21st as well, like you say expensive products etc can be bought at any time and won't mean as much!

  27. Definately New York! It's my favourite place I've ever been in the world, and Paris is so close you can just hop over there any time ;)

  28. Flying is SO MUCH FUN! Don't hate it. The views are amazing, you get to watch unlimited movies and have food and drink bought to you at hourly intervals. Heaven :]
Plus NYC is totally worth it, especially if you fly over night, you'll barely notice the time pass x

  33. Iv been to both New York and Paris and i would definatley say New York would be amazing for a 21st birthday present!!.. Theres soo much more to see and do and you will NEVER get bored!! The people are sooo friendly its a lovely city!!... Paris is great but only really for a few days as its very very expensive to eat out, go shopping etc. and once you have seen everything you want to see there isnt much else to do with your time! I would reccomend Paris for a weekend trip but New York if you want to go for longer because everywhere is busy all of the time so you dont get bored or run out of things to do! xxx

  37. First off, this photo is beautiful.

Secondly - I'm much the same! I don't want a big party or any fancy presents BUT I do want a trip, so my parents are going to help me pay for a trip to London and Paris for my 21st :) I don't turn 21 til October next year but I'm starting to save wayyy in advance because it's a very long way from New Zealand to England, haha!

  38. I think a trip, or something you have wanted to try would be a cool gift. Your eyelashes look huge in this photo.

  47. You are too pretty!
New York or Paris? Both are incredible places, I'm sure you'll have an amazing time either way!
    xo

  48. Good thing, you've already finished your dissertation, but I know that time problem, too, because although I know all my day is packed with things I need to do, I still find something else to do and promise people to do things and so on and so on. It's exhausting, but I think it also makes you feel fulfilled. Anyway love your pic and hope you have much fun next week. For the holiday question, I'd say new york, just because you could afford to go to Paris yourself and new york is so far away.

    ReplyDelete
  49. NYC is amazing, you should go there, it takes your breath away! x

  50. DEFS go to New York if the opportunity is there. Flying not so good but so worth it. xx

  51. Lilly hello, how are you? Sorry for the english but I'm using the google translator because I live in BRAZIL speak Portuguese.
I came across her blog and I spent hours reading their texts, and I want to say that I loved. You're a girl "normal" and adorable, I love the way they regard their day made me laugh several times. Yes there are days when you're sarcastic, but everyone has their days of irony.
If I were an American girl, slim and beautiful as you are sure you dress like me.
Congratulations on your blog and youtube channel, I'm being sincere in saying that you are one of the nicest bloggers I've seen.
Keep writing because I'm loving it.
    A big kiss.

  56. New York is amazing and the flights aren't actually that bad. I flew with Virgin and it was quite a comfy flight! I ended up sleeping for most of it :)

I would definitely choose New York over Paris :)

  57. I went to New York for my 19th and 21st and it's awesome but the flight oh my lord i've been 3 times now and the turbulence was so bad each time i sobbed like a baby. Paris is awesome too though i think the Eiffel Tower was better then the Empire State. x
