river island bag*
hourglass riviera lipstick

River Island invited me down at the weekend to check out the high summer drop from their collaboration with Rihanna. Finally got around to taking some snaps of my take on the collection. I picked out this sheer floral black and white printed shirt because I felt like it was something my wardrobe was really lacking in shirts. I dont really like florals but as we all know, I can deal with monochrome so it works. I paired it with a neon yellow pair of kitten heels with a pointed toe which I love. I had a mini diva fit though when getting them because they couldnt find the other size 5 to the pair. I then immediately felt so guilty for being such a rude and ungreatful bitch I spent about 20 minuites apologising for my rudeness and begging her forgiveness. I think by that point she must have thought I was a nutcase. That day, needless to say I'd woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Anyway, the shoes are an absolute dream and I love them so much. So simple and chic without being too much, They add so much to such a plain outfit. I also paired the look with some simple skinny jeans, and these are actually a really lovely fit. I wear the 10S's which are perfect for a slight turn up and fit like a glove. Very impressed with River Island jeans I have to say!

While I was more impressed with last seasons Rihanna and River Island collection I do like this one and it does have some key pieces worth investing in. The main colour themes are red, black and white with lots of key peices in the same style in all colour variations. I adore the "barely there" stilleto sandals. I kinda wish I bought those now (and saved that poor sales assistant so much grief!) and I adore the dipped back red maxi playsuit thing (?) which would look so good with chunky boots and a tough biker jacket. While me and Rhi Rhi are hardly cut from the same piece of cloth in terms of style her River Island collections are worth checking out!

You may or may not notice I've had my hair done again (at Lisa Shepherd London) and its now a lot blonder and fresher than it was before. I had some of the highlights taken out and more of my natural colour put in as well as the overall tone being changed a bit so it's more creamier. I'm sorry Im so terrible at blogging at the moment, I really dont know whats come over me. My heads all over the place with non blogging things and then my own laziness hasnt helped either. It's my blogs 4th birthday next week and Im sure i'll talk more about my current feelings then. But until then, Thanks for following (: x

Mor Lip Macaroon*,  Nuxe Reve De Meil Lip Balm, Carmex Original*, Burts Bee's Lip Balm*, Carmex Lime Lip Balm
Mor Lip Macaroon: I was sent this a while ago and didn't think a whole much about it but then one day I opened it and holy-sweet-jesus IT SMELLS SO GOOD. Literally the nicest smelling lip balm I've ever tried.  Very sweet, almost sickly in scent but smells like an absolute dream. Although these are formulated with mineral oils and I dont think the price tag is justifiable, it just tastes/smells so darn good. They do a nice job of moisturising the lips but I don't think they do anything outstanding and you can get cheaper alternatives (Vaseline is very similar, just doesn't smell as nice!) on the market for much less.

Nuxe Reve De Meil Lip Balm: This has been on the blogger rounds for a while and I bought it a few weeks a go to give it a whirl. I absolutely adore everything about this from the scent, taste, texture and finish. It looks slightly matte on my lips rather than that balmy finish you get with most lip balms. It feels really nourishing and always leaves my lips feeling protected and smooth.

Carmex Original: Carmex always reminds me of my exex boyfriend for some reason but I cant help but love the original formula so much. It's a very love it or hate it type of taste, it's a bit medicinal and hospital-like if you get what I mean. I personally love it and the thick formula protects and hydrates chapped lips quickly and easily.

Burts  Bee's Lip Balm: This bee's wax based lip balm is a best seller, packed with loads of natural ingredients that work together to moisturise and hydrate even the driest of lips. They are 100% natural and contain no nasties!

Carmex Lime Lip Balm: Like the original flavoured carmex but with a lime twist ina  more hygencic tube formula. I am absolutely addicted to this lip balm since I tossed it in an ASOS order a while ago. It tastes really fresh and upflifting. Thick, waxy but balmy texture with a medicinal taste and lime undertone. Soothing and hydrating and makes me lips feel instantly better. This is also SPF 15 so offers some degree of sun protection.

primark socks

Excuse the socks, I think I was going to go for a maroon coloured top but somehow ended up putting my red one instead. Once I started to edit these I noticed and have now changed into black ones. Who knows.  My mum actually picked this dress out for me, It's nice. Comfy casual and pretty effortless. My kinda dressing, despite the fact I feel like I so very rarely wear skirts or dresses these days. It feels a bit weird to be honest! Anyway, apologises for my week long absence in a sorry but not sorry way! I've just been a bit busy but I'm back on it and normal blogging shall be resumed asap.

Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil

Hourglass has been getting a lot of love in the blogging world and I'm no exception to the rule. I bought the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil on a whim from Space NK a few months atop and I've been hooked ever since. The unique formula is a sort of waxy powder which not only adds colour the brows it also tames them and smooths them down.

I run the brush end through my brows, then the pencil part and then brush through again with the wand end to soften. I'm left with naturally filled in tamed brows. I'll be honest as my brows are actually my eyebrows and I don't really fill them in an awful lot as all I need to do is give them a bit of shape in the front and the ends. It has a unique triangular shape to the pencil which means you can sculpt your brows with broad strokes by using the flat edge, as well as mimic fine hairs by using the pointed edge.

Like with all Hourglass products this comes in at a not so cool £26 but I can see myself repurchasing this in the future. I have the shade soft brunette which is nice but I needed somenthing a touch darker as I feel it can be a little ashy on my brows sometimes! In all this is the best brow pencil I've ever used, it smooths tames and shapes beautifully while leaving a natural barely there filled in finish.

desk office space inspiration ikea iMac
desk office space inspiration ikea iMac review
desk office space inspiration ikea iMac review

As you may or may not know, I am a full time blogger. I do blog "professionally" whatever you want to call it. The pro's and cons and the rights and wrongs of this can be discussed at a later date but I thought I'd share "my blogging area" with you guys. Up until about a month ago I've always actually just bloggged sitting on my bed. I wouldn't recommend it as I could feel my back getting worse and worse by the day and it's just not all that of a productive area to work in! I don't think I'd go as far as calling it an office space, my blogging area is just a corner in my bedroom! Nonetheless this small corner is now where I shall now be spending most of my days. I typically work on my blog for around 7 hours a day. I tend to work on three to four posts most days as well as doing all the admin, social networking and editing for the websites. So it does take a fair amount of time and personal motivation to make sure it all gets done.

I recently decided to invest in getting a iMac after my well loved Macbook Air just decided it wasn't powerful enough for me to use on a regular basis. I could see it getting more and more sluggish and the space was dwindling despite my efforts to transfer things over to my hard drive. I couldn't edit on it and the screen just was way to small. I needed something powerful enough to edit videos, store all my files and not lag every 5 seconds. I have the 21.5inch iMac which I bought from the Apple Store. I'm not gonna go as far as saying you need a Mac to be a blogger, because I really don't think you do. I think pretty much any ol' laptop/desktop/ipad/whatever you want to use is suitable. It just depends on your needs! For me I needed something that could process my work quicker and make my workflow much better. Plus, unfortunately for my bank balance I am an Apple snob so I just *HAD* to get a iMac. It's worth noting I started off blogging on a regular laptop, moved to a Apple Macbook and then onto the Macbook Air. Like I said it just depends on you're own personal needs for what type of computer you might need. There really isn't a HUGE difference in them, and as long as it gets the job done it doesn't matter what make it is!

My desk is the Ikea Micke desk in white, It's the smaller one as I wanted one that would fit in the small space I had but still be big enough to put my new iMac on and a few other bits. It took me ages to settle on this one as I knew I wanted a white one but I just worried too much about it getting dirty. When I was looking I also knew I wanted something with a pull out drawer to store all items that I want to review in the next few weeks. I like to keep things close to me so I can look at what I have and what I might fancy posting about. I have a few Glossy Boxes in the drawer to separate products. On the desk I also keep my daily makeup, which I popped in a small Muji Acyrlic Storage unit, a Ikea plant pot which I use to store my makeup brushes and a little fake plant thing which I also got from Ikea to give it a bit of green. I also have a few of the Red Christmast limited edition Glossy Boxes to store extra bits in such as products I want to review, nail swatch wheels and my camera & phone chargers and my external hardrive.

I need to buy a new chair as I just quickly picked this one up from Ikea when I was there. I need one that's going to give me adequate support on my back as I do sit here pretty much all day! If anyone has any recommendations for proper desk chair's I would be really grateful.

I've always dreamt of having a iMac placed on a perfectly white desk. It brings joy to my inner interior designer's heart seeing it sitting there all pretty and perfect. There are a few bits I want to add on to my desk, including some pens and maybe some notebooks to write down notes and stuff. I also want to put some decoration above my desk to make my corner feel a little bit more creative feeling. Oh and I also need to get a mousemat or something as I'm already getting sores on my wrists from where my Magic Mouse drags! I'm so happy with my new workstation and so glad I decided to invest in it. I feel it's already increased my productivity and made me a lot more focused on the things I need to do each day.

Whatever your feelings on full time bloggers. At the end of the day I'm self employed and in turn being self employed is really hard. No more excuses for not being able to get stuff done now Lily!
Let me know what you think of this post and if you'd like to see more behind the scenes stuff on this blog!

primark nail polishes: £2*

I did a little Primark haul a few days ago and while I was their I picked up a quartet of blue polishes. For lack of a better name I'm just going to refer to them as that as they dont seem to have an offical name or shade names. I'll be talking about the shades from left to right from the bottom image. Nail Polish 1 is a pretty cornflower blue which surprisingly is fairly unique to my collection. It's bluer than other cornflower blues I have. The second shade is a clear glitter with small blue particles and larger navy particles. The third shade is a bright  turquoise green with a blue undertone. It's very similar to Mavala Bamako but a little brighter in tone so if you were looking for a cheap dupe then defintely have a look for this pack. The finial shade is a bright sea blue shade. The finish of all the colour polishes are nice shiney creme finishes, but I would say it's worth topping up with a decent topcoat just to add shine and make them last a bit longer.

At 4 polishes for a mere £2 I cant really find anything to complain about. While the formula isnt the quickest drying the pigmentation is lovely and all (minus the glitter) are opaque in two light coats. You cant really expect too much from a highstreet store's own brand makeup but I do think these are really good. To be fair these polishes are perfect mix and match shades for a holiday and these would make a really nice little gift (just take the £2 sticker off!). I'm very impressed with them in all honesty as £2 is an absolute bargain for what these are and I'd definitely recommend them. My favourite shade is the turquoise as it will look absolutely stunning with a tan!

nars deep throat blush: £21.50

Let's get the school girl titters over the name of this blush out in 3... 2... 1... Now we're done! I decided to pick up Nars Deep Throat. I've never really looked at it much but I saw someone use it in a Youtube video use it and I decided I needed it in my life. Nars Deep Throat is a warm coral with a hint of pink and golden shimmer. It's very similar to theBALM Fray boy which is the only pinky blush i wear on a regular basis. it's not as shiummery as Nars Orgasm and a little more sheeny than shimmery. It's very warming on the face which I found odd because pinks tend to look overly cool on my skintone. I like to use it as a soft barely there type glow rather than packing it on. Like all Nars blushes it's smooth and soft and applies like a dream.

clinique bottom lash mascara

clinique bottom lash mascara: £11

I've had this little teeny tiny bottom lash mascara for a long time now but I cant believe I've only just got around to reviewing it. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is literally the smallest little wand I've ever used. Designed to be exclusively used on the bottom lashes exclusively the wand coats each and every small bottom lash from root to tip. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is a waterproof mascara that doesn't really do much in the lengthen, thicken, or curl your lashes departments. However I think the small brush is appealing because it's an easy to apply mascara that won't smudge or flake. It lasts all day on my bottom lashes and simply darkens and separates the lower lashes with no clump, and it never flakes off.

While it might be a bit of a faff having a bottom lash mascara, I've loved this and I cant believe I forgot about it for so long. Defintely going back into my daily makeup routine! By no means is this product something you NEED in your routine. If your a mascara loser like me then it's very easy to apply and adds a lot of definition.

primark jacket
asos necklace (sold out, similar here)

I loooove this outfit. While it's probably nothing special, if I was to pick one outfit this year that I've loved putting together it would be this one. Rose gold has always been my favourite jewellery and I love the way it really compliments my skin tone. I just cant get enough of the way it looks contrasted with black and white and a hint of blue and gold. It just comes together in the nicest way. I picked this jacket up from Primark around Christmas time last year and it was labelled £20 which I was like "well thats pricey but the jacket IS nice". Only to find out it was half price when I checked out. I love it when things like that happens! Its the best kind of fashion related surprise!

Tonight I'm off to some events- Pixi & Rimmel and possibly Caudalie. Three brands I adore so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what they have to offer going forward. I've also been desperately trying to organise myself for my upcoming holiday (4 weeks and two days, can you tell I'm counting!). Now if you're a long time follower then you'd know I normally go on holiday with my family every year and we always go to the same place. I'm looking forward to it but summer clothes are hard to buy, especially when I'm only going to wearing them two weeks a year! Bikini body worries are already settling in! Eeek!

The post name is a nod the wonderful new Daft Punk album. It's literally my favourite thing at the moment and I've shamelessly listened to it so many times. Definitely worth checking out (:
