Origins Drink Up Mask

Origins Drink Up review swatch photograph
Origins Drink Up Mask: Origins (£18)

My skin isn't actually dry all over (infact its pretty oily) but sometimes it feels really tight and dehydrated. I often get really dry eyebrows, which sounds really weird but I mentioned that the Caudalie Thirst Quenching Serum had really helped add some much needed moisture back into my face. But it was so small and I'd already purchased another moisture mask. I decided to with the Origins Drink Up mask purely as the rest of my skincare is Origins and I wanted another treatment to go alongside the mask's I already use .

I've been using this Origins Drink Up Mask once or twice a week for the past few weeks and its really helped improve the way my skin feels. My skin just feels fresher, softer and intensely moisturised. My skin literally "drinks up" all the moisture. I found it really balanced out the drier areas of my face without making the oily areas worse. The cream itself is very thick and rich once applied with a natural fruity scent that doesn't smell synthetic at all. I LOVE the smell so much, it sort of like Apricots!

Im sure your all sick of me banging on about Origins products but I can't sing their praises enough. I feel like most of them actually work, and I haven't come across one yet thats not lived up to my expectations or lived up to their claims. You can buy the Origins Drink Up mask in either a 10 minute moisture mask (the one I have) and a overnight treatment. I often leave the mask on for over the recommended 10 minutes as it really doesn't matter how long you leave it on.
Skincare Disclaimer: I personally think skincare is incredibly subjective. I'd never run out and get something on the suggestion of one person. What works for me, may not work for you. I personally don't feel comfortable recommending skincare products, so all reviews are based on my own experiences with the product mentioned. Remember to look up other reviews and make sure you reference the reviewers skin type. My skin is Oily-Combination. I don't tend to get breakouts, but when I do they are on my chin. Also, cutting out dairy from my diet has also improved my skin of late.

MAC Reel Sexy: MAC cosmetics (£13.50)

MAC Reel Sexy lipstick has quickly become one of my favourite lipstick shades. I went off corals a lot recently opting for more neutral pinks and peachier pink tones. However when I saw the swatch for Reel Sexy on Temptalia I knew I had to get it. I dragged Emma along to the MAC Shop where I managed to nab the last one (much to her dismay). I didn't actually get around to using it for a good few weeks though as I have a thing about photographing things before using them! Blogger problems! Reel Sexy is a peach-orange with a tiny bit of coral. Its one of the most "orange" lipsticks I own as it doesn't lead incredibly coral, very much a true orange sort of shade. MAC Reel Sexy is an amplified cream lipstick - Which although it's a nice mixture of the pigmentation of MAC Matte and a MAC Creamsheen. I have to admit it isn't really my favourite kind of formula. I find it goes on very streaky and needs a bit of work to look perfect. The best thing about Amplified finishes is that they do last around 6 hours. This was limited edition and got really hard to find so I don't know if its still out!

Even more holiday outfits… I didn't think I'd say this but Im getting a bit bored of the hot weather clothes. I really just don't love them in the way I love dressing for winter, I don't feel myself in someways even though most of these outfits in this particular post are things I would actually wear at home! Oh how I long for a scarf or a fur coat! Hand me my winter boots right now and I'll be happy! My favourite outfit from these four has to be the 4th one, I love this New Look bralet that I picked up before I went away. Obviously it wasn't in the sale when I bought it, I swear everything I like goes into sale! Which to me suggests the clothing I like isn't very popular… Oops! Oh well, the bra let is really nice and structured and gives a really flattering shape. Although it was a bit tight after a few too many holiday treats! Turkish flat bread is to die for, not to mention the ice cream! YUM!

PS. Mulberry winner will be put up on MONDAY!

VO5 Moisture Soak Elixir Shower Treatment

VO5 Moisture Soak elixir in shower review testedVO5 Moisture Soak elixir in shower review tested
V05 Moisture Soak Elixir in Shower Treatment: Boots / Superdrug (£4.29)

Another hair treatment I've recently added to my weekly hair routine is the VO5 Moisture Soak Elixir. I've used the hot oil tubes on and off for years now so when I saw my flatmate had this in the shower I knew I had to go out and get it. Unlike the VO5 hot oil treatments which require you to heat up the tubes under hot water,  the VO5 Moisture Soak Elixir can simply be used as an in shower treatment. I probably use this once a week before I wash my hair while Im in the shower. On the side of the packet there is a little guideline showing you the correct amount to use which is so useful. Although because I have long hair I tend to use about one and a half's worth of the recommended amount of product. I only really apply it to the ends of my hair, working it into the tips which need the most conditioning. I then run it through the rest of my hair and then put all my hair into a bun of top of my head and avoid getting it wet for a minute or so then rinse and wash as normal.

The results are pretty instant, as soon as I start to wash out the oil my hair feels soft and healthier and overall a lot more happier than it was before I stepped in the shower. I really really like this hair treatment and I've actually gone ahead and repurchased this already. It's so convenient and cheap and gives instant gratification. I like both this and the traditional heat up tubes, but this cuts the mess and the waiting around for the tubes to heat up. Highly recommended product from me!

giveaway- mulberry purse

I've republished this as there are two days left for this giveaway! Winner will be announced on the 30th! I have another giveaway coming up after that too!

So this is my big birthday giveaway that I've been harping on about for weeks! For my blogs third birthday I'm giving a way a genuine Mulberry purse! Like I mention in the video I really wanted to giveaway the same purse as I have (I showed it here) but the logistics and the fact I know not everyone likes pink as much as me. I cheekily mentioned "I" wanted to get a new Mulberry purse a few weeks ago, but had a few replies on the subject. However I ended up going with a classic shaped black one. Mulberry Locked Long Purse is described by Mulberry as a timeless and classic piece with their iconic Postman's Lock fastening. It has space for 8 credit cards and two additional sections for notes or receipts as well as a zipped coin compartment purse.

I did think about the pros and cons about giving something designer away, as it doesn't fit with my "high street" attitude towards blogging. I don't really wear designer clothes, although I have two designer bags. I personally see myself at an age where I like trend led, fast, high street fashion, but I'm starting to invest more in designer key pieces. Plus Mulberry is such an iconic British brand it just fit really well with how I see myself and my blog. I paid for this with my own money after putting a little aside each month for the past 6 or so months as I KNEW it was the one thing I wanted to giveaway. I know I'm probably not going to be able to top this as a giveaway prize in the future but it's a special occasion! I really hope you like it and Best of luck!

It only occurred to me after I filmed this video that I didn't consider Vegans or Vegetarians or anyone who doesn't agree with leather. I am so sorry about being such a dunce and not thinking about this prior! I wholeheartedly apologise if you can't enter because of this, but I do giveaways pretty frequently (about every two weeks) so fingers crosse there will be something more suitable for you! Like I said, SO sorry!

You don't need to enter via ALL of the methods to be in with a chance to win the giveaway, the only mandatory is to be a follower of this blog. I chose to give more entries to anyone who tweets because I feel its more promotional therefore you should have a better chance of winning than someone who doesnt.
- Giveaway ends on Midnight 29th June (GMT)
- Open to anyone and everyone! (+ International Readers!)
- There will be ONE winner!
- You need to enter through the Rafflecopter form, any comments will not count as entries.
- Winner will be chosen using Rafflecopter.
- If winner does not reply within three days the prize will be passed to another person.
- You can enter by being a follow of my blogs, being a subscriber on Youtube or liking my Facebook
- For an extra 5 entries you can tweet about the giveaway

More holiday outfits. Sorry some of them are blurry and awful quality, I seem to have forgotten how to use my camera in the heat. Shocking. Other than that all is well here. So hot, although I hear its supposed to be 26C in London tomorrow! Was crazy windy earlier though! A few of the umbrellas actually blew out of their stands, causing my brother to run off chasing after one! It then took four men to try and work out how to close the umbrella (men hey!).

Rituals Foaming Shower Gel in Yogi Flow

Rituals Foaming Shower Gel Yogi Flow review testedRituals Foaming Shower Gel Yogi Flow review tested
Rituals Foaming Shower Gel in Yogi Flow: RitualsJohn Lewis (£6.99)

I was first introduced to Rituals in the Glossy Box Christmas box and since then I've been hooked on this Rituals Yogi Flow shower gel. Yogi Flow smells like Rose and Sweet almond oil, Im not a big fan of rose but I think the Almond oil is the predominant scent. The scent is very light and flowery, but nothing too over powering. I absolutely love the formula, it starts off as a gel but soon foams up into the most luxuriously foamy bubbly solution. The shower gel actually quadruples in size! It actually reminds me a bit of shaving foam, which is kinda odd but hey I like it! You do have to be careful as its easy to over pump the product and use way too much. It RRP's £6.50 for 200mls, but I have seen it for less as I paid £3.50 for this particular can as it was on offer. The latter price to me is much more acceptable than the first one around £3 is what I'd normally pay for a shower gel but I dont think I'd splash out as far as £6.50. The smell lingers slightly and leaves my body nice and fresh and moisturised. I'm glad I was introduced to the Rituals brand from a beauty sampling box as I didn't ever think I'd find anything in them that I REALLY really liked enough to repurchase!

I am currently on Holiday in Turkey until the 4th JULY. This is a scheduled post, Although I will be blogging while I am away, I won't be reading and replying to things until I return to the UK! Hope the weather is not too bad!
llymlrs holiday sunglasses

llymlrs holiday sunglasses
one: Girl props
two: Primark (old, may have been re-released)
three: stolen off my mum (probably primark)

Taking four pairs of sunglasses might be excessive to take on Holiday for two weeks. But Im a big believer in the fact you really do need to protect your eyes from the sun. I wear them constantly on holiday for a variety of things including the fact I get really bad hay-fever and at the end of the day I'm just one big diva (cough cough no makeup, look terrible).  Make sure when your looking at Sunglasses check they offer good protection for your eyes! Sunglasses are supposed to protect your eyes from the harmful UVA/UVB rays that the sun gives out so it's SO important to get ones that offer adequate protection! For more information on sunglasses and eye protection see here.

I suit sunglasses that are either round or have a slight cat eye to them. I think it's really important to find sunglasses that suit you face shape rather than ones that are the latest "trend"! My favourite pair of sunglasses has to be my Girl Props Half Tints I've had them for years now and they are my favourites to wear. Probably more a fashion piece than ones that are going to protect my eyes (although they do have UVA/UVB Protection, they are awkward to wear!). The green Primark pair is one of my all time favourites too, I've had these for around 2 years and still  going strong. I bought them in the sale but I'm sure they've been re-released. I've pinched one pair off my Mum but Im sure I'll get them taken off me once we get to Turkey! The River Island ones are recent additions to my Sunglasses collection, for a tenner they aren't too shabby! I really like River Island sunglasses although some of their offerings this year are slightly questionable! I'm probably also going to buy some Ray Ban Wayfarers at the duty free as I've been wanting some real ones for years now but never had the funds to get some!

PS. Note from Holiday- My Girl Props sunglasses have actually cracked and melted in the sun, I've worn them in Turkey for the last three years and it's never happened before so I don't really understand why its happened this time! The weather was around 37C-ish at this point!

AA Nails Neon Green & Neon Pink

AA Nails: Neon Pink & Neon Green: American Apparel (£9)

I love American Apparel polishes (see my reviews on L'esprit and Galaxy) so one day I decided to purchase some of the uber bright polishes from the Neon range. I do really love Neon nails, when I go out especially I always do Neon Pink nails no matter what I wear. It's just a tradition! When American Apparel say neon they really mean neon. Boy are they bright! Especially the Neon Green it is like a rave on your nails. Bare in mind my camera never really picks up pink nail polish properly so I wouldn't take my word on the on nail swatch!

Neon pink has now replaced my old love for the Eyeko Punk Polish. Its opaque in two coats, but needs an additional one to even out everything as the brush sort of drags though the product. It has an average drying time but this could be improved depending on the topcoat you use. The colour is a true neon pink, although it's not as bright as some neon pinks I own I'd still class it in the neon category! Compared to Models own Hedonist, which is a bright neon coral pink, this is very blue toned pink and has a much glossier finish.

Neon Green has to be up there in my top five favourite nail polishes of all time. However despite the amazing bright green it is really hard to work with as a nail paint. Initially I applied it directly onto my nails which after three almost four coats it looked amazing. But because there were so many coats the polish got too thick and was taking AGES to dry so I decided to remove it (with the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish remover) and apply a nude base coat (I use Stargazer 504) to see if the colour would apply better. This time I used two coats and it dried down well! It's a shame as I am in love with this shade, although green nails sounds pretty scary I think it looks awesome!

Some "what I wore today" style snaps from my holiday so far. Sorry they aren't to my usual ~llymlrs style~ but there was no way I was going to try cramming my Tripod (as Im asked alot, its unbranded and given to me by my uncle so I can't recommend one!) into my suitcase.  Although I did consider getting the family to take some, It was just easier and stress free to do it myself!

I always post my evening outfit's on Instagram (@llymlrs) each night alongside my mother but there are a few day ones thrown in this post too for good measure. I don't try TOO hard to look nice on holiday during the day, although I don't really make much effort at home but thats a matter of opinion! I know people like a bit of holiday inspiration as in the UK our weather is so terrible we hardly get to experience summer clothes! I never know what to wear AT all so I spend the weeks prior to my holiday in a "WHAT DO I WEAR" panic! Although I typically wear a dress or a playsuit in the evening and my River Island Flatforms (the only heels I bought with me!) and then some sort of baggy dress or shorts and vest top combination for the day time around the pool or on the beach! These photos aren't in order so you can really see my tan development yet, Im sure the next batch you can see just how dark I get in the sun! One good thing about my strange olivey skin tone is that I tan really well without burning or going red.

The green fluro bracelet Im wearing in most photos is a insect repellent bracelet, this is the one I have. I don't know how well it's working as I'm covering myself in rellepent as Im severely allergic to bites but I haven't had any so far.

Mint Carmex

mint carmex tube review swatch photomint carmex tube review swatch photo
Mint Carmex: Boots / Superdrug (£2.69)*

I've been a massive Carmex fan for years now. It has always my go to lip balm come winter when my lips are a chapped mess. The traditional yellow round pot Carmex has to be the most repurchased beauty product. I think the Carmex taste is either love it or hate it. I personally love it, Its just so fresh and I love the tingly feeling you get when you apply it. The tube versions of Carmex have a different consistency to the pot versions. The tubes are a little less stiff and a little more sticky. I recently was sent this Mint Carmex and up until then I'd never actually tried a flavoured one. The Mint Carmex contains 100% natural peppermint oil along side SPF15. I really like the minty flavour as it adds a bit more of a tingle. It feels just as moisturising as the regular Carmex. The only thing I'd say about the tubes compared to the pots is that a little too much product can come out so you need to be careful not to over apply. Although as Im a bit of a germaphobe it's nice having it in a tube rather than having to stick my finger into the pot! You win some you lose some! At the end of the day I think Carmex is a pretty standard beauty product, it isn't a must have or an complete essential but I really like it and its worth trying out if your on the look out for a new lip balm!

sunday portrait week 130

Sunday, June 24, 2012

milley (my sister) too this photo of me, was the best of the bunch unfortunately haha

001. To be honest I nearly forgot it was even Sunday here in Turkey! Like I always say Im a stickler for routine so not doing my "normal" things means I have no idea what day it is! I can't believe I've been here in Turkey for almost 5 days already it's completely flown past! Although as you can imagine being 22, used to living alone and then going on holiday with your family is a bit of hard work! The weather is incredible here, yesterday it was a whopping 37C but it's a somewhat "cooler" 30C today!

002. Today I spent some time off my sun bed to edit some outfit photos to post next week! In the same style as the holiday outfits I did last year (which you can see  herehere and here) I've been doing a few snaps of an outfit before I leave my room so I should have some actual fashion related content for next week! I personally find it so hard to dress for summer and hot weather as Im a total winter person!

003. Tonight my Holiday makeup consists of MAC Select Moisture Cover, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Aruba,  17 Glow Pink Bronze Shimmer Brick for eyes, Look Beauty Blush in Flirt, Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner and Nars Bolero Lipstick. Suprisngly this holiday I've been embracing the no makeup during the day look. I never not wear makeup at home as I'm pretty much sure no one would recognise me if I didn't. Mainly thanks to my improved skincare and the fact I got eyelash extensions again I feel confident to go without it! Last year I wore the Laura Mercier Tinted moisturiser and the Bare Minerals SPF35 Mineral sunscreen, but I've just been reaching for a regular facial SPF. But I cant resist wearing it at night, Baby steps! My hair is so dry from the heat and the bleach all I can think about is going home and using copious amounts of hair oil and a hair mask or ten!

004. Any giveaways I've been running will be sorted once I get back. This included the Jolie Box one and the Benefit Mini's. I just didn't have time to chase things up with the winners or the companies before I left. My Mulberry purse giveaway also finishes while I'm away (29th June, so five days time) so it is likely that won't be announced until I get back to the UK on the 5th, possibly later depending on when I go back to London!

...And Im sure you're all fed up of me talking about my Holiday and how fab it is, But I hope everyone is having fun in the UK! Jealous of everyone who's at Isle of Wight (maybe not the muddiness) or even the Radio One Big Weekend! If you're not in the UK (I seem to forget a large portion of my readers aren't from the UK and I really apologise for that!) I hope you're having a wonderful weekend too! Big love to you all (:

Taaj Himalaya Cleanser

Taaj Himalaya Cleanser via Jolie Box *

I received a travel sized Taaj Himalaya Cleanser Micellar water in a Jolie Box a few months ago and have recently got round to trying it out. I initially thought I wouldn't like it as when I opened it the smell kinda put me off. It's actually really grown on me now and I really can't get enough of it. It's a mix of Rosemary, White Tea and Camomile and it smells so fresh and uplifting. On the skin it feels so soothing, refreshing and really feels like it's purifying the skin. It works well at removing all traces of face makeup although it is average at removing eye makeup. I generally just use Micellar waters on my eyes and then use a makeup wipe or a creamy cleanser to get the rest of the makeup off to do a double cleanse.

I really love Micellar water cleansers and it is always nice to try out a new one. However like with Bioderma I don't think Taaj is a brand thats easy to get hold of in the UK. I could be wrong though! I know you can buy it online from various stores but I prefer things I can just pick up when Im in Boots or Superdrug. My bottle is 100mls which would be around £3-ish worth of product as I've seen the 500ml bottle online for around £17. I've taken this little bottle on holiday with me as it's the perfect size for travelling!
