I feel like I answer the "What eyeshadow are you wearing?" Question practically everyday right now. Not that Im complaining as it's a damn fine eyeshadow and why WOULDN'T you want to join in on the hype. Buon Fresco from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette is my go-to and to be frank I don't want to live in a world where it doesn't exist.
As ya girl is a creature of habit, this awkward super matte lilac grey nude shade graces my lids everyday without fail. I dont even remember the last time I wore something other than this eyeshadow actually. I cant work out if thats painfully tragic or not? Its basically the opposite of every eyeshadow that I'd worn before - I used to be all about that warm matte brown shadow life but it's been shoved aside in favour of its cooler (toned) cousin. No idea what drew me to it but as soon as I applied it something just clicked.
Buon Fresco is a matte purple suits and is an unexpected hit for my completion and eye colour, with a really refreshing spring-y twist. It's a super duper matte shade, like literally so flat with not a hint of sheen or simmer. I find some of the ABH shadows to be a little on the powdery side but that isnt too much of a biggie for me as it blends out really nicely. Not that I know how to correctly blend an eyeshadow out. Sometimes I think it makes me look like a reanimated Zombie so it's definitely not a shade thats for everyone!
I desperately need to find a dupe for it or at least a larger size one as I've already hit pan on it. My big gripe with the ABH Palette's is that there is so little product in the pans at a stingy 0.02 oz. Which in eyeshadow terms is... and excuse my french. Fuck all. I have read that you can pick it up in pan format but thats something I'll probably have to wait till the next time I head to the States to do. According to Temptalia dupes include Contour shade from the Kat Von D Plum Eyeshadow Quads and Vintage by Makeup Geek or Too Faced Dreams. I own none of those although I have been eying up that KVD quad for a while 👀, So maybe I'll have to track it down.
