Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Collection *
Oh Bobbi Brown. Why do you do this to me? When I saw rumblings about the Surf and Sand Collection online, I knew it was going to find a place in my heart. Super sparkly eyeshadows, sheer lip shades, a pretty face palette? Oh my god. Get in my makeup collection.
Let’s start with the main item in the collection -The Surf eye palette. A snazzy compact containing 8 pretty shimmery shades from sea foam blues to lovely golds. Wrapped in a rough linen material which is surprisingly beautiful and fits well within the collection. I adore the size of the palette, it’s perfect for slipping into a makeup bag for travel and the huge mirror is a bonus. But… and you can see there was a but coming. The shadows are beautiful, just not that pigmented, apart from the neutral shimmery beige. Some are very glittery and shimmery and I struggled to get a colour pay off, especially from the blue and the green. The neutrals are pretty good though - Just not that great.
Also in the collection are two Brightening blushes, I have Brightening Blush in Pink 2 which is a stunning highlighting blush. This is my favourite product from the whole collection, it’s just a really lovely pop of pink. There are also Sheer Lip colours which are lovely, they apply all and give just amount of colour on the lips. My favourite shade is Peach Sorbet, it's a lovely 90's brown peach but some how brightens up the face completely. Summer Nude is strangely nice too, even though it's a dark brown with a ton of gold shimmer in. A really lovely juicy summery finish. I also have two of the new Long Wear Eye Pencils one in bronze and the other is a deep dark chocolate brown.
While I think the collection is beautiful and I’d recommend checking out the palette, It’s hard to not be drawn in by it. But no matter how beautiful it is, just doesn’t work for me. Head over to your local Bobbi Brown counter to see for yourself!
