Festival time is almost upon us and I'm already getting in the mood for my favourite season of them all. I love the feeling of standing in a field with a bunch of mates, feeling liberated and listening to awesome music. I’ve been going to music festivals since I was 14, I have countless stories to share about festivals. Its a time to see your favourite bands or kick back in the sun (or rain!) and just have a generally rad time. I’ve been to good festivals and bad ones, had great experiences and ones I’d rather forget. I’ve lost count of all the one in a life time experiences I’ve had over the years and sometimes I pinch myself and think “whoa I did really see X Band”. I often get that over seeing Jay Z at Wireless last year. Hove is just… insane.
I’ve had some great stories from Festivals over the years. Like the one time at Reading where I swear I found a trampoline in the camping areas and me and friend Sara searched EVERYWHERE for it. I swear it existed! Another time I was with my friends at a festival and one got kicked out and we had to choose between sacrificing our friend or getting into the VIP area. I was friends with a well known band and got to watch them from the side of the stage. One of the proudest moments of my life. Being VIP at Wireless last year with Birchbox and having unlimited free drinks and food. Feeling like I’d finally made it. Boss level achieved! The time I lost all the people I’d gone with and spent the whole weekend with a bunch of that I’d just met. Asking for a crisp and then my friend Sara yelling RUN as she ran off into the darkness with a bunch of Doritos. I even met one of my best friends to this day randomly one evening while walking around the campsite. We just hit it off from the second we met and have spoke daily since. I still have that lanyard with his number on in my memory box.
This is a entry into the Destination Unknown competition by BANK Fashion. Where I could potentially win a chance to report for BANK and attend 3 European festivals. I'd absolutely love to have the opportunity to explore some non-UK festivals and have a mini holiday at the same time. Two of my favourite things at once. Dream Team. Festivals memories are my fondest memories - Some of them have shaped me and enriched my life. I can’t wait to party till the early hours, meet new people and just generally soak up the atmosphere. The summer is my favourite part of the year and festivals just enhance it.
