So I've been going back and forth the past week trying to decide what's next for my hair. I've had the "Cara" blonde look for a while now and while I do like it and it does suit me I think Im just ready for a bit of a pick me up and an autumnal change. I've been toying with the idea of going much blonder, I normally opt for a mixture of highlights and balyage on my natural hair colour (it's a dark blonde colour) and have it toned to a honey blonde colour. I just feel it's a little too dark these days and I want something less highlighted looking, less roots and a little more ashy. Because I always take a whole lot of hairspiration photos into the salon with me I thought I'd share with you some of my blonde hair inspiration pictures that I plan on taking in. I got them from various sources from all over the web so I dont actually have credit for some ong the images. I need to go have a consultation with a hair stylist to see which tones would actually suit me so I've picked a variety of different tones that I really like! We'll see! Watch this space!
house of holland x elegant touch nails*
Yesterday the press release for the new Henry Holland x Elegant Touch collection came into my inbox and I knew I couldnt wait to share it with you. It's a collection that is brimming with Henry Holland’s renowned sense of humour and uniquely irreverent aesthetic, the range channels House of Holland’s playful personality and includes a mixture of iconic patterns as well as colourful, fun designs to add fashion flair to any outfit. The designs are some of the most creative, fun and intuitive stick on false nails I've ever seen. The collection has everything from heart shaped claws, classic nudes, faces, geek printed nails and polka dots. I've seen a lot of false nails but nothing has blown me away like this collection has. Elegant Touch are also a really good quality nail brand, I've used a few of their styles in the past and have had no issues with them. The nails come in 24 sizes along with a nail file and some nail glue.
The House of Holland Nails by Elegant Touch will be available in September 2013 at Boots and Superdrug and will be priced at around the £8 mark. Really reasonable, perfect unique statement nails and definitely a must have for the party season. These are great for a insanely cool full manicure or you could just use one nail as a statement nail. If youre terrible at nail art these are really worth investing in!
I'd been planning on doing this for ages but I've only just got around to it as Summer is coming to an end… but hey! I wanted to do my drugstore picks for summer but I wanted to make sure that they were all products that I've tried, not just a bunch of products I walked into Boots and picked up for the sake of a post and a giveaway!
First up is Mascara, for this I chose the Maybelline Falsh Lash Effect Waterproof mascara. I've got a lot of time for this as it's probably my favourite drugstore mascara in a waterproof formula. My lashes look long, defined and lengthened with ease. It volumises and lengthens without making the lashes feel clumpy or weighed down. It's also pretty waterproof, and didn't migrate or sweat off in the sun. The eyeliner I picked was the Seventeen Tattoo Me eyeliner (full review) which promises up to 48 hours wear. Now Im not going to recommend wearing makeup for that long but this was my go-to liner on holiday and didn't melt off in the summer heat and lasted well. This is also really pigmented and black so is a great all round eyeliner. As it's summer everyone needs a good bronzer and I picked the Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer (full review). I actually use this most days as my go-to summer bronzer as I love the subtle colour it gives me. It's really pigmented and warming with minimal shimmer. I also picked another Bourjois product for the cheeks which is the Bourjois Cream Blush in 02. A lovely little cream to powder blush which adds a flush of colour to the cheeks. The Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Boosts (full review) are also a really lovely product. Bright, youthful shades which look beautiful on and are really budget friendly. I especially like Peach on the Beach as it's a lovely peppy peachy pink! For nails I picked Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Polish (full review) in Guava and Papaya. I adore both shades and the formulas are spot on. These are a great budget range and their summer colours are perfect. The other polish I picked was the Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish in Blues no Blues (full review). A really pretty bright blue which emphasises a tan and brightens the skin. The formula of the 1 Second Polishes as they are super quick to dry and really easy to apply.
I also decided that Im also giving away all the products shown in this post as I already own them and have tested them all out previously. So you could win all the items mentioned in this post including the super cute makeup bag! All you need to do is fill in the Rafflecopter form below!

I've heard of the brand Kiko Make Up Milao before but I've never actually tried anything out. It's not a well known brand here in the UK but I hear they are quite well known in Europe and other parts of the world. Recently the Dark Heroine collection was sent to me and from inital impressions I had high hopes. The colours looked excellent and I felt the whole collection had a really coherent theme which was right up my street. The Dark Heroine collection is designed for "women of the night" (ooh-er!). Women who are fearless, confident and self assured. Inspired by the night, neo gothic nods and bold colours, this collection promises big bold shades and flashes of colour.
The Loud Night Bronzer is a really nice fine bronzer which feels ultra fine and adds a subtle glow to the face without looking muddy or dark. The mixture of shades really flatters my skintone and gives colour and warmth to my face. My favourite item is the Colour Impact Eye Palette. It's the perfect autumn winter palette with a variety of shimmer and matte shades which can produce a fair few looks. The matte shadows have good colour pay off but can feel slightly chalky (although I find most matte's are a little chalky!) The shimmery shades are all beautiful but do contain a lot of glitter so might not be up everyones street. I really like them though, but they are best used with a sticky base to prevent fall out. The palette actually reminded me quite a lot of something Nars would put out. I especially like the burgundy shade and the glittery neutral shades. The Velvet Blush Stick is nice, but I find the formula a touch chalky after it's dried down doesn't give the best colour pay off (on me it was a very pale pink tone, despite looking peachy in the tube). It applies well, is quite creamy and is very easy to use. The Twinkle Eye Pencil is a soft, blend-able dark brown shade which I really liked, I found it was easy to smoke out and lasted well on my eyes without migrating. It's also self sharpening so no need to have a sharpener on hand! The Kiko Laser Lacquer is a nice blue duo-chrome shade, which isn't up my personal street but I did feel the quality of the polish was there. The Latex Like Lipstick is a really lovely creamy formula which has an almost vinyl finish on the lips. It applies with easy and is opaque in one swipe.
In all I'm very impressed with the colours and the products within the range. With the prices from this collection varying from about £5 for the polish and £17 for the palette I do feel they are slightly overpriced. I do really like the palette but I feel it's not worth the high price tag. There isnt anything wrong with it, I just dont think it's worth that much. Despite that there is nothing I could complain about from this range, I just feel its not as good quality as it could be, but that doesn't make it bad in terms of the actual product.
In London their is a store in Westfields Stratford and their is also one openeing up near &Other Stories just off Regent Street. You can purchase their stuff on their online store at Kiko Cosmetics

Next up in the Models Own Autumn/Winter offerings for 2013 is the Models Own Firework Collection. 5 stunning glitter polishes in a clear base, with each polish absolutely packed with colourful glitter in all shapes and sizes. These are best worn as topcoats but some could be layered up to be worn alone. The Fireworks is a collection of glitters so its right up my street. I love nothing more than a glitter polish to perk up a manicure.
Models Own Sparkler Nail Polish is packed full of holographic strands which gives a really cute effect when used as a topcoat. This would look amazing layered up with lighter colours like baby pink, lilac or blue. Then we have Models Own Catherine Wheel Nail Polish which is contains four glitters including mini gold strands, red polka dots and holographic glitter. This looks nice layered over darker bases's and would really pop against black. Models Own Banger Nail Polish contains blue strands, two shades of blue hex's and fuschia micro glitter. I afore this one as well and it looks awesome layered over white. Models Own Roman Candle is the pink based one with black and silver strands. I found this to be the most dense glitter polish from this collection. And lastly Models Own Rocket, jam packed full of glitters including red strands, black dodos and a fine black and gold base. This one if definitely the most interesting polish from the range containing a whopping 7 glitters.
These retails for £5 each and launch on the 24th August at the Models own Bottle Shop, Online from September 2nd, and nationwide from the 4th in Boots then Superdrug from the 25th September. I can see this being a popular collection with some of the shades really standing out to me. Namely Sparkler and Banger, these are definitely my top picks from this drop! Like all glitters I can imagine these would be a pain to get off!
