Bourjois Rouge Edition in 14*

GOSH Lipstick in Burgundy*

I'm slowly but surely getting more and more into dark berry lips. I know this is one of those trends that comes around evey year. But I've always shied away it, favouring peachy pinks and nudes. As it's such a bold colour. I don't think dark or berry lips are something I'd wear all year round I definitely think drugstore lipsticks are the best way to go when it comes to bold lips. Especially for nervous beginners like me. You can experiment with tones and shades which might suit you without breaking the bank.

First up I picked Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107. This lipstick is a matte berry red tone which looks really pretty on. I love the formulation (soft matte) and how it looks on me. It's got a slight purple edge to it which is really flattering on my skin tone. This one is my personal favourite from the bunch, plus I can see myself rocking it a lot more this winter. Bourjois Rouge Edition in 14 is the glossiest in formulation, It has a soft slippy sort of texture which isn't uncomfortable. Colour wise this shade is more of a bluey punchy plum. Then I also tried GOSH Lipstick in Burgundy. This one is very similar in colour to the Rimmel 107, the formula is a bit more glossy but not as glossy as the Bourjois one. It's plum berry shade and has a brownish tone to it.

All of these lipsticks leave a slight stain behind on the lips and wear for an average amount of time. I'd highly recommend using a lip brush to apply them with because they can get messy and are hard to correct if you go wrong. None of them bled on me, but you can always line the lips with a similar coloured lip liner or a clear one.
