clinique high impact extreme volume mascara

clinique high impact extreme volume mascara review swatch photo

Holy, Moly. I think I've reached new levels of love with the Clinique High Impact Mascara Extreme Volume. I don't throw the word holy grail around lightly (although I may have said last month I loved the Origins Ginzing Mascara a lot, oops!). Also while I know I mentioned in my Clinique Chubby Sticks for Eyes post that I'd never really used anything from Clinique. The two items have rocketed up my list of favourite products and have completely changed my mind on the brand.

With the  Clinique High Impact Mascara Extreme Volume my lashes look really dramatic, defined and lengthened. Everything I'd expect a mascara to do and so much more. I do think it can get a little clumpy as the brush does bring out a fair bit of product. However I find combing through a few times with the brush and then going over the lashes with the rounded end part separates the lashes and removes some of the excess. The brush itself is plastic bristles with slightly rounded tip at the end (similar to ball on the Givenchy Phenomen'eyes Mascara or Benefit They're Real) which is perfect for separating the lashes out and getting right to the inner corners. I can see some people saying that  the Clinique High Impact Mascara Extreme Volume brush quite large to work with but I found it very easy once I got used to it. The colour doesn't fade or flake off during the day which makes me really happy. I hate it when mascaras flake off and irriate the eyes! It's quite a wet formulation which might not be everyones cup of tea some people but I like it because I feel it coats the lashes better and product applies easier. It does take longer to dry than some mascara's I've tested but only a few seconds more.

So in conclusion, I will 100% be repurchasing this when it runs out. I don't think I've ever enjoyed using a mascara so much (yes, you've heard that before, but honestly this time!) While I can see why this might be a bit too much for a "day mascara" on some people. I think perfect for me all the time and suits "my look" to a tee. Basically it's super lengthening, black, pigmented, non-flakey, non-drying, volumising and is very easy to remove. Either a cotton pad of Bioderma or my favourite Clarins Cleanser does the trick no problem!
