Today's post upgrade post is going to show you some of my holiday outfit upgrades from my recent trip to Turkey. It was really gorgeous, super warm and just the right amount of chilling out and having fun. Each year I struggle with the same thing, How to dress for hot weather! I’m such a winter girl at heart and I'd happily swap sandals for winter boots and a kimono for a faux fur jacket! So when I started thinking about my holiday wardrobe I focused on getting things that I'd wear at home rather than things I'd wear only when I’m away. I read somewhere that some women spend just as much on their Holiday clothes as they did the actual holiday! So here are some of the ways I used what I had to update my wardrobe for a hot weather holiday! Bear in mind I wear a lot of black, grey and white at the moment, so I chose to wear the summery, bright colours in different, subtler ways that I felt more comfortable in! By no means is a guide on what to wear, or showing you what’s "right" to wear. It’s more of little talk on how to accessorise the clothes you already have update those pieces for summer! This post is brought to you by Galaxy Essential Upgrades
Upgrade One: The Neon Necklace

necklace: primark
Although this isn't a super summery pick, I think a big statement necklace can add so much to a simple outfit. For example I picked up this neon necklace for a couple of pounds from Primark a few days before I went on holiday. I bought it with the intention to wear it on a night out before I went away with a simple playsuit. Then as an afterthought, I chucked it into the small bag of jewellery I took along with me on holiday. I actually wore it with a fair few of my evening outfits as well as a few times during the day. The bright colour pop meant I could get away with wearing the darker or neutral colours I normally wear without having to buy something I wouldn't wear back in the UK.

Upgrade Two: The Statement Bralet

top: primark

top: motel via asos
I wore a variety of different bralets and cropped tops whilst away on holiday, all paired with the same simple black jersey skater skirt from Topshop. This meant I was able to cut down on taking extra outfits (and valuable suitcase space, those things get super heavy!) and pair the bralet top with the same skirt. The lipstick print one from Motel and this Aztec Primark were my favourite from the bunch. I personally like having a statement print or pattern on the top and then keeping it simple on the bottom to balance the look out. Again this kept in line with my idea of outfits that I'd wear at home, as I like wearing them when I go out in the evening! You could also wear these bralets with maxi skirts, or under drop arm vests.
Upgrade Three: The Polish Pop

Nail colour pops have been around for ages, but are a fool proof way to update an outfit. I took a few shades of nail polish with me when I went away as I like to change my nails a lot. Models Own Balearic Cool was my personal favourite although it's a pretty hard shade to work with (see my review here)! The Models own Hed Kandi Collection would be a perfect collection to take away on holiday with you as it's full of neons and glitters that really compliment a tan. I stick to bright colours on holiday (for a selection of my favourite holiday nail polishes see this post here) but any nail polishes you like would suit!
Upgrade Four: The Arm Candy

bracelets: river island, black tied*, turkey, topshop, kukee, turkey
Layering bracelets has been around for a while now, it's a great way to add a summery festival feel and be right on trend. You can mix and match high street with ones you've made yourself as well as ones you can pick up on holiday. If you’re away on holiday you can normally buy a variety of bracelets from little shops or markets for very, very cheap. I bought a few ones when I was in Turkey for around 1TL (about 40p) each. There are no rights or wrongs when it comes to compiling your arm candy collection so it's fun experimenting! But if I had one tip I'd keep it to one arm and stick to colour themes! Also mix in your watch (if it’s not waterproof, don't go all silly and jump in the pool!) to as I think they add an awesome edge to a statement bracelet collection. Be careful with dodgy wrist tan lines though!
Upgrade Five: The Flatform Wedge

flatforms: river island

Great post. I've got draws full of summer outfits which I only ever wear on holiday, once a year, so for the last few years, I've been doing the same, trying to adapt my Uk wardrobe by adding accessories. Saves loads of money and also gives you loads of new ways of wearing things.

Like most any Wonderbra ultimate strapless. I've tried, i have to tug on it a bit but quality is great and it's a nice all-around bra when i wear it with the straps. The nude is a nice staple for summertime.
