Last night I popped along to a hair event at the Lisa Sheperd's London Salon to look at some hair trends for the summer. The theme of the event was hair scarves and I was offered to chance to have my hair styled by their team and shown some tips and tricks on how best to style them. For my look I chose a boho inspired do with soft tonged waves and a bit of a beehive at the back. My stylist started off by completely tonging my hair into a loose wave, this was actually the part that took the longest in the whole look. Then he set out backcombing my hair. I have pretty fine hair but lots of it. I struggle to achieve any sort of volume without a ton of backcombing. As you can see from the 10th snapshot he backcombed almost all of my hair to give it a bit of texture and lift! I was a bit worried at this point as my hair was crazy. Taming the mountain of hair it with a soft bristled brush and securing it into a loose ponytail at the side. The hair scarf was used to break up the hair a bit and was entwined with the side ponytail.
My finished look was something in-between Priscilla Presley and Lana del Rey, It has all the hallmarks of a classic 60's undo with a modern fresh twist. I actually really loved the final look, It went so well with my dress and is actually alot easier to do. I will try recreating it at home one day and maybe do a step by step, obviously only if I can do it myself! This look is perfect for festivals or hiding dodgy roots or greasy hair!
I really like the Lisa Sheperd Salon, I've had my hair styled there twice now and I've always left feeling super glamourous and with alot of styling knowledge. Im actually getting my hair cut and coloured there on Saturday for a nice summer refresh before I go on holiday. The London Salon is really close walking distance to Oxford Circus tube station and Goodge Street but they also have salons in Birmingham, Kiddiminster, Sutton and Wombourne. I'll do a proper review of the salon once I've got my hair done at the weekend!
