sunday portrait week 106

LLYMLRS

001. Pretty uneventful week to be honest! It was my baby brothers birthday, I cant believe he's a whole year old! And I took a sly trip to London. Between that I've just been playing Bejewelled, and downloaded Temple Run (damn you who recommended it!) and read more of A Feast of Crows by George R.R. Martin. Got some silly little term trending on Twitter and thankfully stuck to my 2012 healthy diet!

002. I've decided to start running again, Long time followers would know that last year I really got into running and would run 5-6k everyday as well as doing two hours at the gym. Im big on sports/working out, but I ended up stopping as I had far too many niggling sports injuries and I never got back into it. Decided its time, and Im going to try running outside. This really makes me nervous for some reason! I can do it on a treadmill no worries, but the idea of running on the road/park makes me feel really scared! Probably just worried someone will see me panting and sweating in public!

003. I mentioned my wardrobe clear out in yesterdays post and I thought it went without saying I'll link everyone when it does go up! Strange looking through all my old stuff, I even have a original before-they-were-famous PANIC! At the Disco t-shirt as well as my first ever pair of skinny jeans (yah I dont wear trousers!)! I cant believe how much stuff I hoard sometimes!

004. Been rounding up 2011's top 5's of various makeup products on ETC LLYMLRS this past week! Probably the best way to see the makeup I actually use without me having to do a tutorial. I doubt I'd ever do a makeup tutorial, I think that in some ways it gives people a bit of false hope, buying expensive makeup like X wears doesnt mean its going to look the same on you or make you look like them. Suppose that is a bit contradictory coming from someone who beauty blogs on the side!

005. Finally got round to updating the shop with all its new stock, even though I was supposed to do it a few days ago!  All the usual deals in place with 3 for £8 and five for £10. Including free UK shipping until the end of Monday. I initially said the shop would be closed on Monday, but it will now be shut on Tuesday for a week (I will put this on the website!) because of some potentially exciting news coming up!But I cant confirm anything quite yet!

  5. I really miss going to the gym. In Sydney, Fitness First is THE BEST! I was pretty addicted (in a healthy way!). I miss how toned I used to be when I was a member, haha! Definitely joining again as soon as I get back to Aus.

  8. i'm the same with running (not the everyday bit) but i started to run frequently and got up to 5k and did the race for life but then kinda stopped. only been for a handful since but my NY resolution is to start regularly again. I was the same with being apprehensive about running outdoors, but once you start, you sort of forget and people come and go in a flash! x

  23. I know exactly how you feel on the running front, I worry I actually run like Phoebe in friends or something. But when I do pluck up the courage to go, I always seem to pick a time when there's a few other runners out, so I feel like I'm part of some elite club of smug fit people when they nod hello at me, and I grimace back in sweaty pain! Good luck with it, it'll be worth it when you're superfit! x

  24. you look lovely :) Good luck with the running; I plan on doing more exercise and eating healthier this year too. It all seems so daunting haha xxx

  27. Jealous that you can run that far + then do a gym workout! I've just started to take up running outside, it makes me carry on when I see people, don't wanna look like a fatty who can't run. I just keep my head down! xx

  30. I have a thing with running outside! For some reason I really prefer a treadmill, but sadly can't afford a gym membership at the moment. My boyfriend says he doesn't see a difference but I definitely do!!

  37. I love the fact that you never wear jeans/trousers! I don't either (apart from the occasional playsuit), I haven't for the last 4 years or so. My bum and legs look horrrrrid in jeans! My friends think I'm odd for not even owning a pair of them anymore, so glad I'm not the only one! xxx

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh and PS, also not alone on the running front. Exercise DVDs are the way forward! Davina's 2010 one actually does work, and you don't have to work extra hard at trying not to sound out of breath if somebody walks by! x

  39. I've been failing to find nice silver cheapish rings in the sales, but I can't, and just remembered your shop. I'm gonna check it out. Also, lovely eyebrows
    It would be mine

  40. Have the same running-related anxiety - would hate to bump in to someone I know when I'm attempting to run! Do it in the dark and you're fine, that's what I've found.

  41. I use to jog outside last year but since winter it's to hard cuz of the weather. I've brought a treadmill do looking forward again to running. Good luck running outside.. You'll love it in summer especially

  43. I get nervous running in public too! Always go super early when there's no one around! x

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've been running outside for 6 months now - I wear sun glasses so I don't have to worry about what I look like to passersby. I like running outside way more than on the treadmill at the gym, I guess the change of scenery and actually moving somewhere and not watching your calories tick over makes it all the more enjoyable. You should consider signing up for a fun run!

Well done on a good week of eating, wish I could say I've done the same!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. ahhh i have the exact same fear! i can run on treadmills easy and feel like no one cares because (almost) everyone in the gym is sweating but as soon as step outside i just wanna run home haha
