001. Above photo is from yesterday with Victoria, being the lazy bum I've turned into of recent days I forgot to charge my camera so theres hardly any photos from when we were together and none from today! The jeans weren't what I was wearing, I was just trying them on! Was so nice seeing her and we had a good laugh, and obvz look round the shops. I tried desperately to fit into a size 6 dress in River Island because it was faulty and had 75% off but it simply wouldn't go over my wide chest! Not that I'm a size 6 in the first place, but my inner bargainista was determind to try! Was such a shame as it was so lovely, tempted to buy it full price though!
002. My blog is two on Tuesday, I really cant belive I've been doing this for that long either! I feel like a proud parent!
003. I bought a Urban Decay Naked palette the other day from a tip off via Amy then persuasion via Nicola, not that I needed my arm twisted that much! It hasn't come yet but I'm so excited about getting it. Its something I've wanted for ages but kept putting it off when it came back into stock! I got mine from HQ Hair but I think they are sold out already! They sell like goldust, so if you see one anywhere I'd snap it up!
004. Put a new necklace in my shop today, and I've also restocked the small turquoise rings and the crosses. There is still free UK shipping on some items (the small rings, the cross & the three rings). I have alot of new stuff that I need to photograph and put up but I'm thinking about leaving it till after my holiday, Although I think things will come in drips and drabs at the moment so its always worth checking back!
005. BOOK RECCOMENDATIONS? Im not a booky person, I hardly read (do blogs count?)despite being sucked in by this Kindle commercial, when it first came out, I've only used it a handful of times. Im just looking books to read when I'm on holiday! My main interests are like crime, mysteries and history, so any recommendations of that theme would be great, however any good reads you've had recently just let me know!

You and the Vipxo are too cool for school! xo
ReplyDeleteaww yay! happy early birthday =] we have been blogging for almost the same time now!! =] Wishing you more luck and success in the future =]
ReplyDeleteGlad you both had fun :) Both looking lovely. Try Tess Gerritsen (think that's how you spell it) for books. xx
ReplyDeleteIf youre into thriller, mystery, crime books definitely check out an author called Linwood Barclay. His first book was recommended by richard and judys book club.
ReplyDeleteSome that are just worth reading are
never let me go
the perks of being a wallflower
on the road
vile bodies
the great gatsby
wide sargasso sea
:) hope this helps. But seriously you will love Linwood. His novels are well written, keep you guessing, include lots of little details that finally lead to an amazing and unforgettable denoutement :) hope it helps!
You are probably gonna shake your head of this comment but..if you haven't already...you should read Harry Potter. From beginning to end. The books are better than the movies imo and when you (or I) start reading them, it's hard to stop! haha
ReplyDeleteAnything by Greg Iles if you like crime. His books are brilliant and gripping xx
ReplyDeletelove the top/bodysuit you're wearing in the picture. i recommend christopher brookmyre for crime fiction books, his earlier stuff in particular.
ReplyDeletex
Your outfit looks wicked with those jeans, I swear by Urban Decay eyeshadows they are amazing! And your blog has the same Birhtday as me :)
ReplyDeletexo
In fact Linwoods best books (to help you even more, aint I nice ;) ) are:
ReplyDeleteNo Time For Goodbye
Too Close To Home
Fear The Worst
Never Look Away
I've read the first 3 and they had me on edge the whole time!
xxx
ahh, you both look very pretty :) if you haven't already, not crime as such, but "curious incident of the dog in the night time", it is a bit of a mystery though ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteI think if you enjoy mystery and crime stories you can never go wrong with the classics like Sherlock Holmes and Edgar Allan Poe's Dupin. :) Happy up and coming blogerversary my blog turned two earlier in the year and it feels crazy that you could have been typing away at it for that long, madness :) xx
ReplyDeleteso jealous about the naked pallette! ive been trying to get one since before christmas, and they literally are nowhere to be seen :(
ReplyDeletei always enjoy dan brown, you cant really go wrong there, easy reads!
Try Gyles Brandreth Oscar Wilde mystery series :)
ReplyDeletelovely post! and gosh there are so many books, try The Earth's Children series by Jean M Auel it's amazing
ReplyDeletehttp://www.rubyccino.blogspot.com
I just got the naked palette about a week ago after also putting it off for a bit. I'm really glad I got it though! The shadows are really pigmented and blend smoothly. Only complaint, it's a hair on the glittery side with a little bit of fallout. I hope you enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteRebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
ReplyDeleteIt's an amazing book and all of those three things rolled into one! I love it.
If anyone's really desperate for a naked palette they could always get the ferry to france, they have piles of them on the ferry!

You both look lovely!Still loving that cross necklace darling!x
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday to your blog for Tuesday xD :]
ReplyDeleteAnd I recommend 'Child C' and 'Cut', there those typical books where kids get abused and stuff, so I guess its sort of a crime but honest they are amazing and gripping. I couldn't wait til bedtime just to read what happened next, how sad am I? But I guess it shows how good they are. I know some are sad but can be all the same sometimes but them two really stand out. Does that makes sense, probably not lol! xx :)
If you like mystery you would love the author "Harlan Coben"! The titles are 'Tell No One' 'The Woods' and such.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on vaca!
Seeing new blog posts from you makes my day!
ReplyDeleteI'm really into reading at the moment, and a good book I read recently was The Brutal Art by Jesse Kellerman so I would recommend that :)
Hey lovely, quick book recommendation. The Eng Lit student in me is forbidding me to say this as it's not a "classic", but defs read 'The Historian' by Elizabeth Kostova.
ReplyDeleteIt's a new take on Stoker's Dracula and actually quite gripping.
Much loves xxxx
HAD THE BEST DAY EVERZ!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU!!!!!
XO!
If you want a good book to read I fully reccommend 'The Lovely Bones' It's got loads of genre's in it; crime(ish), mystery definetly, some romance, comical bits and bobs and you'll struggle to put it down! It's so much better than the movie. Best book I've ever read in fact :)
ReplyDeleteEmily the brave
Love the jeans in your picture and that dress you tried on is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletewww.bethscircus.blogspot.com
x
Both of you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteIf you like History I'd definetely check Mary Renault, she has a great trilogy about Alexander the Great, another great author is Marguerite Yourcener, Memoirs of Hadrian is one of my ultimate favourites! I'm very old school when it comes to crime novels, either Conan Doyle or Agatha Christie.
Aww you guys! :D
ReplyDeleteDid you buy the jeans? I really like the colour, are they RI?
Burn the Blonde X
you guys look stunning! hope u bought those skinnies as they are fab! :) xo
ReplyDeleteAh, you always look so stunning!
ReplyDeleteI have just the book to tick all your boxes! (I am a bit of a literature obsessive, and I bought this book for 50p at a florist purely because it was 50p and thick- which I think is a bit fantastic). It is called The Interpretation of Murder and it is a crime/mystery novel set in 1906 (if I remember correctly...) New York, based around Sigmund Froid's first and only visit to America. It is AMAZING. Love xx
Looking spiffin' as ever girlz! <3 Those jeans are such a nice colour! xx
ReplyDeleteDouble Indemnity *****
ReplyDeleteNo Country for old men.
Maltest Falcon.
The Big Sleep.
You two are gorgeous and those jeans look lovely! The Remains of the Day
ReplyDeleteby Kazuo Ishiguro is a good history-genre book! :)
It's annoying how the dress didn't fit over your chest, I have that problem many a time. I've recently starting reading Rebecca, by Daphne Du Maurier, and I really enjoy it. It's not really crime/mystery though.

If you like crime, you may like Kate Atkinson's books. Also, Audrey Niffenegger is really good - I've read by The Time Traveler's Wife & Her Fearful Symmetry - both really good reads. Another of my faves is One Day by David Nicholls. Oh, and Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks! Haha sorry for the overload - I love reading! x
ReplyDeleteBoooooks! Room by Emma Donaghue is one of my faves this year.
ReplyDeleteYou both look wonderful ;D x
The urban decay naked palette is a beaut, your excitement is totes understandable. Looking lovely as always :)
ReplyDeleteAnd on the book front, I'm being cheeky and not really recommending a book that fits the crime/history genre, but I'm currently reading; "When God was a Rabbit" And simply had to mention it because I rather love it and haven't even finished it yet. It's a book kind of about life and growing up. I'm not very good at explaining, and it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I like, ha. Also an all time classic which you may have already read; "To kill a mockingbird" - I guess thats kind of crimey as its about a court trial? Sorry for the waffle. I've gone a bit book mad since finishing uni. x
You'll love your Naked Palette, I'm obsessed with mine, I hardly ever use Mac shadows now!
ReplyDeletex
seeing as you've been enjoying the tudors (my fave show everz) try 'the other boleyn girl', its all the tudor stuff still with the same gritty drama that the tv show has (:
ReplyDeleteIm reading Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan at the min, if you want some inspiration/motivation in life its great for that! Plus you get some free recipes :)
ReplyDeleteKerri xo
http://kewestyle.blogspot.com
Hmm, I don't read many crime/history books, but I think these - despite not being of either genre, are really good:
ReplyDeleteHandle With Care - Jodi Picoult
Eat Pray Love - Elizabeth Gilbert
The Child in Time - Ian McEwan
Sister - Rosamund Lupton
And I've heard Complicit by Nicci French is meant to be brilliant xx
Those jeans look really cool from what i can see of them :) Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteI work in Waterstones so i'm always surrounded by books haha! I also do a degree in Criminology so i've read my fair share of crime books - if your interested in that kind of thing, one of the best books i've read is (it doesn't feel right calling this book "best" haha, but it was) is Own of Your Own by Carol Ann Lee - it's a biography of Myra Hindley, a tough read but it's fascinating if you are interested in crime/true crime and it's not cheesey or sensationalised like most true crime is.
As for crime fiction i love Val Mcdermid books, the tv programme Wire in the Blood was based on her books if you've ever watched an episode of that.
Stacey xx

ReplyDeleteJeffrey Deaver and Kathy Reichs are good crime authors. And I know it is everywhere at the moment, but the girl with the dragon tattoo trilogy is SO good, so if you haven't read it I would.
ReplyDeleteThe I heart series are really good- A light 'frothy' ready which is good for holidays! And super girly.. It's about a woman who finds her boyfriend cheating, so runs off to NY and.... quite good actually!! Happy 2nd birthday!! xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm going to recommend you Restoration for holiday reading, it's a historical novel, mystery, funny and the main character is so endearing. Defo worth a read. And my favourite Atonement, SUCH a good book :) xxx
ReplyDeletesuch a lovely picture girls :)
ReplyDeletelove the colour of the jeans!
im exactly the same with the naked palette. i want it but everytime i go to buy one i decide not too. one day i'll give into my temptation!

The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo trilogy is fantastic, crimey but not overly so, some of my favourites
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading The Witch of Cologne, and I've hardly been able to put it down!
ReplyDeletexo, kelseylee of peachy dreams.
If you like history and crimes, I'd recommend Devil in the White City. Fantastic book with both history AND a serial killer. It's a great read :)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy are crime books and are really good! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!!
ReplyDeleteI'd recommend anything by Jodi Picoult. Her books are about complex interpersonal relationships and sometimes there is a mystery to the story. I liked Harvesting the Heart, Salem Falls, The Pact and Plain Truth!
Those jeans are an amazing colour! And I love photo's taken with friends :)
ReplyDeleteI can recommend Stieg Larsson's Milennium trilogy. I've watched the movies but really wanna read the books! It's awesome, thriller, crime and mystery built into one. The books are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire and then The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
Kisses
Xoxo

I like Tara Moss' crime novels. :) x
ReplyDeletesharpest-lives@blogspot.com
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is one of my all time favourite books - it's a crime mystery thriller. So great and a classic. I might re read it in fact!
ReplyDeletehappy b'day for Tues!! Think someone already mentioned Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, but Jamaica Inn is also awesome - both are gothic thrillers. Also The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. Ignore the film (it's pants!)the book is fab!x
ReplyDeleteI always find Dan Brown's books fast-paced and interesting, but The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld is my personal favourite; a little Sigmund Freud could also fit the history quota ^.^'
ReplyDeleteLove the tone of the photos by the way, and as always great blog! :D
Bloody fab jeans! You should have bought them!
ReplyDeleteStylish ladies :)
xx

If you like history novels i'd recommend either 'the other Boleyn girl', or 'Nefertiti'. Both great books esp if you're a history geek aha.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Psycho, and the perks of being a wallflower x
ReplyDeleteYou two look fab :D
ReplyDeleteThose jeans are a great colour!!
As for books, if you're into crime and police, Kathy Reichs books are awesome and set between Montreal and Charlotte.
My favourite reads i think anyone would enjoy:
ReplyDeleteThe Book Thief: One of my all time favourite books. It's set in Germany during the second world war, narrated by death it follows the life of a girl from age 9 as she learns to read and gains a love for books. It's really hard to describe the story without giving the whole plot away but it's just so fantastic and one of the only books to make me cry, can't recomend it enough :)
Small Island: This is a big read but one that really drwas you in so you read it pretty swiftly (a "can't put it down" though that's wuite a cliched saying!) Again I'm awful at describing what it's about but it focuses on the lives of people whose stories cross after world war two. Covers themes like racism, love etc. Again simply fantastic :)
The Kite Runner: Just finished studying this for my english lit exam and must sya kind of obsessed with it now. It's a story of the redemption of Amir as he has to confront the sins of his past. I probabaly wouldn't rave about this as much as the other two but it is really compelling and definatley worth a read.
beth c
have you tried tess gerritsen books? they're like murder/ crime/ suspense books. really good :)
